So don't get me wrong, but I'm not a fan of us taking a bid in this tournament.
1) our guys are gassed
2) i believe it costs money
3) not thrilled by the teams we'd play
4) I don't see what positives come out of it, unless we are only only playing guys for next year (meaning no Moore or Jenkins, which I doubt and would be equally silly)
5) limited fan interest to show up at EBA
6) we closed out the year playing hard (even though we lost), anything but making the final will seem like a let down
7) I kinda agree with the sentiment that we should have standards as a program NCAAs or NIT, nothing else
Open to hearing opposing points.
I'm not mad that we are doing this, just don't see the benefit. I say let the guys enjoy what they accomplished, rest, go to class and get ready to make a bigger statement next year.
I am not a GMU alum
but i live in NoVa and love college basketball
I love it so much that so far this year i have spent $1250 on college bball tix, $50 on high school bball tix and $250 on Wizards tix
I have season tix to GWU (i am not an alum)
I have partial season tix to Georgetown ( i am not an alum)
saw about 5 GMU games this year and 4 Howard U games this year
and 4 tournaments in NYC/MSG/Barclays/Newark in Nov and Dec
I love music and the Green Machine so much that I send them a yearly donation and have been to a few GMU women's games just to hear the band play
I am happy for any opportunity to watch more college bball and hear the band
my first complaint is that both GWU and GMU are playing at the same time so i can only see one of them (I choose GMU - because i can hear the band and drive to the game and not ride METRO)
my 2nd complaint is that 6 months ago i planned a vacation starting on March 17th and wont be back till March 25th so i will potentially miss games if GMU and/or GWU win
