Hopefully he'll screw up again and they can just move on from his one-trick pony game which consists of launching line drives from behind the arc. What an awful year it must have been in high school hoops when that fella was POY.

Actually, Holloway had a terrific year with several game-winning shots including against traditional powerhouse DeMatha.

Also the first team that year had several players who played in Div I.

No matter how many shots (or classes) Holloway misses, I'll still take him over the Paul Hewitt of message board posters every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Damn that has to hurt a little lol. Nice fierce energy a few days out from the opener, I like it.

Glad to see DP enforcing his rules and disappointed in PH.

Hope this is a case of senioritis and not something bigger.

(side note: does feel a bit hypocritical, by my senior year (and most of my partners in crime) it was easy to know what classes could be skipped without sacrificing a decent grade. Easy to see as a grumpy old man - wasn't so clear then).

See the following link - https://colleges.niche.com/bucknell-university/athletics/:

"Students Receiving Athletic Financial Aid
Football: 54
Basketball: 22
Baseball: 3
Cross Country/Track: 37
Other Sports: 89"

They have been giving basketball scholarships since 2002. Just started in football and a number of women's sports in 2012. Still don't have scholarships in men's sports other than basketball. Note that many of the above are need-based aid, not athletic scholarships.

I assume that you are referring to Bucknell men's basketball only - see http://laxmagazine.com/college_men/DI/2013-14/news/032114_bucknell_announces_hazing_suspension.

Yes, I was only talking about basketball. However Bucknell has no athletic scholarships in lacrosse, so technically what I said would apply to lax as well. Not football unfortunately, which had a suspension in the first game this year.

The lax suspensions mentioned in the linked article were triggered by a recruit who was allowed to drink alcohol.

I loved Pat at PVI. LOVED him as only a 39 year old tall awkward white man can love a 5'10" teenager, from a basketball standpoint. Was also happy to start the PHAT (Patrick Holloway Appreciation Thread) his first year.
Now most days I equate a Patrick Holloway appreciation thread with a Paul Hewitt appreciation thread.
We need to get the PH balance back...which is to say, all gone.

I think you and I might butt heads, from time to time, this season...

i for one like Patrick, he's always been one of my favs. however if you are not going to follow Paulson's rules you will pay the price. I have no problem with this suspension laid down by the coach, its his team and he will do what is best for the program.

I've also always been a Holloway fan. I'm not entirely sure why people are so up on him? If he had any modicum of coaching during the first three years of his career, I believe he could have been something special. Sounds like he's not in it mentally now, which is sad. But hopefully he gets his ish together. On the flip side, I'm glad that Paulsen is enforcing rules and discipline in the locker room. It can only play out well on the court.
