I would go to more soccer games if that gets built. I dislike how far current seating is from the action.

I also love the idea to flip the George Mason Stadium seating to the far side, so you're not staring into the setting sun...

And do I see light towers on the baseball field?:crazyeyes::crazyeyes:

Yup. 1500 Watts of "f**k you" to the neighbors. And the seats behind the goal for a student/rowdy section is a nice touch.

Think those are fairly new. If you're talking about the ones across from the baseball field. If you're talking about Kelly Dr on the other side I fully agree. Mason needs to go on a property buying spree by West Campus.

New old who cares bulldoze it or burn it.

^This. Time to buy out Roberts Rd. and build Greek row

We should have game attendance requirements if we were to build a greek row. Greek Life at Mason, currently, sucks. No school spirit.

Mason should buy up all the houses near West Campus especially if a Larger stadium were to be built or that Research Park they want to build.

Actually during orientation - there were quite a few fraternity and sorority tables. It seems to be pretty vibrant. One issue with school building greek row - then the University has its hooks in you. Would like to see the greek councils work to raise money to buy the properties on that road.

As a current student, I can tell you Greek Life isn't as involved as it may seem. Very few show up to games. Right now the most spirited frat would have to be Chi Psi. The rest, combined with our losing records from prev years, think they're above that and don't come out. For example at homecoming, most just tailgated and dipped right after lol

Having the university's hook in you is a good thing IMO; provides leverage in case they get out of hand, but also doesn't dump the cost on frats. Properties in Fairfax are far too expensive for it to be raised by a greek councils, having the university do it would allow for Eminent Domain to be used facilitating the acquisition.

GW has a pretty good deal. Their greek row is around their arena and they even have a little kiddy section for them under the hoop. IDK if they have any attendance requirements, but their greek life is involved with athletics.

Currently working on some stuff regarding a row. School's more open than you would think. 1/2 of the sororities have the money to build. A handful of fraternities have a significant chunk of change, but not enough to buy property.

Greek row and attendance at basketball games have nothing to do with each other. I agree I'd like to see more greeks at games, but if the product on the floor is good, students will come out. My freshman year in 10/11 the place was always packed, especially with greeks, because the team was great. If you want a better school with more to offer students and more selling points to prospective students you should want a row.

In regards to the University having authority over you, it kind of would anyway because of Mason PD's range. They used to hassle us when we had a house on Roberts even though it was private property we rented. Would rather any time of row of there be privately owned by the greek organization, but the school is gonna have a heavy stake regardless because of the heavy handed PD.

One has a small property close to campus. That's it unless someone has bought one very recently. Even that place isn't the best location because it's across Braddock. It's the best Mason can offer and still an average house in an area with neighbors on top of it.

Kappa Sigma has the house on Blue Topaz off Braddick Rd. We used to have a house on Roberts Road, right where the Catholic Campus ministry is, but we finally let them buy us out. It was great having the house there, and we always hoped the school would allow a bigger greek row, but it was not to happen.
