I think they play at GW and at Dayton and home vs. Davidson. They need to win 2/3 and win a game in the A10 tourney (likely) and they'll be in. But if they don't make it we can safely say it was because of the green and gold!!!

Just got back. Great game. Great energy. Great outcome. This will be a victory we look back on. We're heading in a very, very good direction. Really the two firsts halves of SLU and Umass aside, we've been playing some good basketball. Weird to see a team gel in February. Haven't experienced this since coach L.

Beyond pleased that Mason beat vcu tonight. Loved what I saw from a game plan perspective and the crowd was on point (to be expected). Mason controlled Johnson (other than when he got hot a few possessions in a row), and didn't let many other shots go uncontested. They also didn't jack up threes and exploited their size inside consistently.

Oh my god what an amazing game. Can barely even think right now. Some thoughts:

- I ate shit and fell into a puddle when I was entering the arena. Like facefirst, rolling around in a massive puddle. I was drenched the entire game. PatriotChild was kind enough to bring a towel for me to sit on. Not relevant to the game but I wanted to tell you all.

- Incredible game plan from Paulsen. Totally forgo the three-ball and murder them inside. I was wondering why Danny got so many minutes but it became more apparent as the game went on that Jalen/Marko/Shevon were going to be doing the heavy lifting all day. We kept hammering the paint for good looks and didn't settle for threes, even when they were open.

- Will "Paul Hewitt" Wade was kind enough to leave Shevon iso'd most of the game. It led to some ugly possessions, but Shevon beat single coverage more often than not, just like he's done all season. I can't imagine why any coach trying to beat us wouldn't double Shevon on every single touch. It's not like we have the shooters to make teams pay.

- Did anyone know that Jalen was such a deft post passer? Only credited with four assists, but he was fantastic in picking his spots and hitting open guys. He was the key that unlocked the gameplan.

- Guards were mostly good against the press tonight. Otis still makes a couple dumb turnovers every game, but it's totally excusable given the load we're putting on him.

- With around 14 minutes left Shevon and Jalen both went to the bench and we lost a 9 point lead in about 90 seconds. I don't know where to find the +/- numbers for college games but my guess is that they both had a +/- of +10 or more. Shevon and Jalen is an incredible frontcourt and I feel robbed that Paulsen only gets one year of it.

- Our perimeter defense quietly doesn't suck anymore. vcu shot 5-22 from three. Teams are shooting 24/83 (29%) against us from three over the last four games. Not totally awful!

Nothing fluky about this one - we were the better team. Jaire is buckets. Marquise is buckets. Otis is buckets. Shevon and Jalen and Marko are buckets. Tonight we are all buckets.

Duncanlamb has been quite classy on these boards, so we should give him a pass. They're not all obnoxious. Any fan of another team who asks reasonable questions (and gets reasonable responses from us) should always feel welcome here.

Thompson and Jenkins were absolute beasts down low, but you can't say enough about how well Marquise and Otis played. And I'm not just talking about them both scoring in double figures or how they handled vcu's pressure.

You show me a starting backcourt that has 8 rebounds (Moore) and 7 rebounds (Livingston), and I'll show you a team that wins more often than not. Our players wanted this game more than theirs, and that's something Paulsen deserves major props for instilling in them.

Shevon had ZERO FOULS for the entire game. Not sure that has happened all season.

Great win! This is what can happen when we get our bigs in the game early, opposed to jacking up three's. Why do we take so many three's? our percentage is horrible! Hats off to the guys. This was an amazing win. Thompson was great, Jalen continues to play at a high level, Otis came on late and hit some big free throws. Moore was the X factor. The heart of a warrior, didn't expect such a big game from him tonight. We can really shake up some things in the conference tournament.

Didn't feel like an upset. They were a one trick pony with Johnson, otherwise have the offense of a DIII team.

No joke.... some fat chick I went to high school with kept posting on my FB account and crying about their loss to us. I'm like WTF..... who are you and stop crying on my FB posts. They truly have nothing down there.... she was so pissed. LOVE IT

Their RPI is now in the 60s...if they lose any remaining reg season games - even @Dayton - I think they'll need to make it to the A-10 final just to get on the bubble.
