Thanks to infrastructure upgrades left to him by Shaka, Wade started off at vcu about two-thirds of the way to third base. Would've been a standup triple if they hadn't lost their entire incoming recruiting class and Terry Larrier.

Given how far our program has fallen, DP had to beg, borrow and steal just to step into the box and take a couple cuts.

But I think both schools ultimately got what they were looking for. vcu got somebody to continue the "young up-and-coming coach" storyline and recruit high-level athletes, while Mason hired a fundamental technician capable of signing and coaching up under-the-radar prospects.

Since they're starting from such different places, I think it will be difficult -- maybe impossible -- to know in 3 or 4 years who got the better coach.

I don't care who vcu got. The only thing I care about is making vcu dread coming in to EagleBank to play because they know they're going to get the home court beatdown they deserve.

Going to the game with a friend who went to vcu. He actually dropped out which makes me think he's smarted that their alums when he realized what a hell hole he was living in.

Should be a good game, but I expect it to open up in the second half. Our guys are getting tired and the lack of depth is starting to show. Would love to see Moore back in form, but when I had a high ankle sprain it took probably two months before I felt 100%.

Let's hope Moore has better DNA and genetic make up then you, allowing him to recover quicker ;)

Ugh, these a**holes are coming in tomorrow? They should have to submit to blood tests before they get in Patriot Center. Disease-ridden cocksuckers. God, just their presence in Fairfax once a year probably devalues my home by 50-100 K. So many of them were raised by single parents and are ridiculously overweight. We wouldn't even need Obamacare if not for their fat asses driving up health costs for all of us. And their women? So slutty and dirty. Literally anyone from our area who goes down there with two twenties can purchase a blumpkin from a dance team girl down there. Anyone read the Old Testament? God used to wipe people out left and right--why he hasn't flooded the James and started over in Richmond is beyond me. Maybe he's still deciding between flood and fire. I suppose in a way their presence is needed to counterbalance UR. Reminds me of Iran and Iraq, and how Reagan supported both in the 80's in hopes they would just wipe each other out. Maybe we should do the same. I just can't stand the mix of weird, fat, highly gay, ghetto weirdos down there. Serious question, would you rather go to a local bar and roll on the bathroom floor for an hour, or go back to the Richmond Coliseum? I'm not sure. I hate them so much.
Still remember the CAAT game we played against Richmond down there where the f*&king horn wouldn't stop going off randomly. It was a dump 20 years, it's a dump today, and it will be a dump when and if they redo it.

Yeah, first year success under a new coach is deceiving due to the inability to label current success under the new or old coaching regime. Paul Hewitt was 24-9 his first year. You would look at that and go "wow, what a great hire" but really it was mostly the success of Larranagas players. Four years later we were able to see the true Hewitt system and it stunk. It will be interesting to see the two programs in 3-4 years when both coaches have established their respective regimes.

Even that first year, there was plenty of evidence Hewitt was a lousy hire. As I recall somebody on here posting that year, "worst 24 win team in the country." Weak schedule - ugly and unsatisfying wins that made us miss Larranaga right away. Bad losses at the beginning of the year that denied Mason a chance to build a nice resume. Finally, blowing a huge first half lead against Northeastern in the CAA semi's and rightfully being snubbed even an NIT berth. That vcu game was probably Mason's best win.

*Correction - the infamous 32 - 4 game vs. vcu ended that first season and the Northeastern fiasco took place the next year
