A. Mason was up 20..... and then with 5 seconds left the game was tied. Hence, Mason gave up a 20-point lead.A, we didn’t give up a 20 point lead — we won the game.
B, it happens all the time in basketball. We almost pulled out a few of those this season ourselves. Look, Phil Martelli went zone, tripled the post and his gamble paid off. If Grayer, Otis and Boyd hit a few more shots to break that zone, it wouldn’t have been close.
We should all be thankful Otis is on our team, though. I mean, that was a Herculean effort just to get that ball over to Boyd.

Looks like it shouldve been an assist...I think Otis should have got the assist on that, looked pretty clear that he tapped it to Boyd. Play by play says he was not credited with assist.
Boyd ruined a perfectly good OT game! Thank God!
Giving up a 20 point lead is awesome?
I am going to use that as my ringtone from now on!Best line by the commentator as the clock winds down... "We are heading into OOOOOOO NOOOOOOO!"
A lot of these nailbiters have come down, for me, to a lack of an experienced big who can get these rebounds. This game wouldn't have been nearly as close if we had a guy who could grab those crucial late stretch rebounds after a miss. I think SJU had something like 9 or 11 second chance points off missed 3s late in the second half, many of those were fought for under the basket where a big 5 should be going up and clearing those out.
I'm curious to find out why DP has gone small ball to end close games as of late. I'll ask the next chance I get. I would say Calixte has enough experience to get a late rebound at this point of the season.

Have you ever seen Greg shoot a free throw? lol

It looks like PTI is going to show the ending in the final segment of the show.
I mean, come on... You'd rather we give up offensive rebounds and second chance points than secure rebounds and let Calixte go to the line and hopefully make 1 of 2? Also, on a made bucket, put him underneath your own basket on press break. Maybe someone can enlighten me on the hack-a-Shaq rule in NCAA but I thought you could only intentionally foul the ball handler.
Also, I was responding to someone suggesting we need more experienced rebounders. I guess we need great rebounders who can also shoot FTs well, not sure how many of those are at this level but hopefully we have one red shirting! Obviously happy we won, but if you haven't noticed the small ball lineup failing us late in games than.....
