Wow that was awesome. And yeah that call is legendary. This getting any traction on ESPN or anything?

And glad to see Boyd having success lately and having fun. The guy is a great athlete and he was in a bit of a rough patch for a while there.

“The Hawks should probably try to stay up by more than three the next time they play GMU.”
It's incredible how there was no foul called on any of the three St. Joe's players who did their best "Harry-Carson-Lawrence-Taylor-Breaking-Joe-Theismann's-leg" impression on Otis.

Actually, I'm glad a foul wasn't called there. It makes Ian's shot just that much more painful to the St. Joe's thugs and their fans.

Pretty sure you can’t call timeouts from the bench anymore while the play is live.
Ah gotcha. That makes sense. Was stunned we didn’t take one, but it also seemed like we may have only had one left and the streams graphic was off.

MJ08rubes and I were at the game. It was such bullshit going into the stretch. So much shit on Javon... IIRC. The refs definitely had it in for Otis. The big guy, 33, was elbowing him left and right. oh well. Buzzer beater and odd fans.... One guy from St Joes kept shjaking my hand after the game in good sportsmanship ... it was f**king odd.

But the beer at Landmark bar was $2...

Man. I'm so happy this morning. Haha. It's sad how much it matters to me.

Not sad, awesome! An event that gives you something to look forward to twice a week, every week.

My wife understands how important it is to me and even without asking her, she:

  • Goes with me to games
  • Makes sure every game that's on TV is recorded
  • Road games that are not on TV, she makes sure the A10 site account info is up to date and the connection is ready to set up the laptop and connect to my TV.
Then I can come home and get on the boards to either vent, rejoice or just go through the emotions of a season with fellow fans that love Mason basketball just as much as I do.

I am a lucky lucky man and life is good.

Giving up a 20 point lead is awesome?

A, we didn’t give up a 20 point lead — we won the game.

B, it happens all the time in basketball. We almost pulled out a few of those this season ourselves. Look, Phil Martelli went zone, tripled the post and his gamble paid off. If Grayer, Otis and Boyd hit a few more shots to break that zone, it wouldn’t have been close.

We should all be thankful Otis is on our team, though. I mean, that was a Herculean effort just to get that ball over to Boyd.

GIVING DAY 2023
I think I remember hearing that Sherrod's buzzer beater against vcu was the first game winner for Mason in Patriot Center history (not sure about road games). Now, in a relatively short amount of time we've had Jalen against Manhattan and Otis & Ian against St. Joe's. Can we just enjoy something we may not see again for years and not nitpick that we blew a lead or failed to get a few stops.

I hope we have a big turnout on Saturday and that TweederGMU offers oral to Ian.
