They must've just had individual meetings about playing time and expectations for the season for both Newman and Temara to transfer this late. Which also must mean that Paulsen was already planning on filling these minutes with AJ, Mar, Calixte, and Greene.

Would imagine it's SOP for staff to meet with players after summer workouts and let everybody know where they stand on the depth chart.
I liked Newman and thought he was better than Boyd last year..... all around. His shooting and speed would be a nice complement to have but I think he wants to play more and probably be closer to home.
Best of luck.... kid is going to be good wherever he goes.
What he said.Damn this one hurts, didn't really think of him as transfer material. Thought he was gonna be a lethal 6th man for us for a few years. Best of luck to him, he'll kill it elsewhere. The short shorts with the headband was a great look.
Aint nobody wanna play at an adidas school

Also, Boyd clearly plays the style of basketball that Paulsen wants. He is physical on both ends of the floor, drives well, and takes care of the ball. He also mastered the backdoor cut by the end of the year. I think he may win a starting spot this year to be alongside Otis, Grayer, Kier, and whoever plays the 5.I can't believe you said that. Were you watching the same games we watched. Kier nor Newman was better than Boyd. Boyd played out of position most of the year as well as playing in pain the entire season with tendinitis in both knees. We will see what Boyd can really do his Sophomore and Junior seasons. The only person that kept Boyd off the court was Paulsen it wasn't any of his team mates . . .coach Paulsen did the same thing to Jenkins his Junior year.

That would possibly be the shortest starting line up Mason history.

Boyd is not shorter than Marquise nor would the 5 be shorter than 6-7 Jalen. So it would possibly be the shortest lineup since . . . last year. Paulsen doesn't give a sh*t about height.5-11
