No getting back to Mar - I have been very impresssed with his play and as someone mentioned B-ball IQ. The fact he is an engineering student is a plus. He looked good last night . I’m looking forward to seeing more from him in future games.

Ok I disagree with this wholeheartedly. I moved out to Aldie (Willowsford) and its a theme community built around farms and is really great by the people I have met. There is a lot of community b tased events that ties everyone together and the two large working farms in the middle of the community tie everyone to gather. Go to the VA wine country or Middldburg/Leesburg is great. Downtown Tyson's has turned into a nice spot and so has Reston.
Hey, I moved away from you and now you are pretty close to me again. Are you stalking me? ;)
I live on a horse farm in Gainesville now, probably about 5 miles or so from you.

As we closeout Mars freshman year, he's third on the team in scoring, shooting 35% from 3 and 80% from the line, and defending five positions.

He's the best freshman big man since Ryan Pearson, and maybe better.

The more I think about it, the more I think this team is lined up for big things in the next couple years.

For the record, if Mar never improves, and just puts up the same statline he did as a freshman, he'll finish

#15 in career scoring
#6 in career FT's made
#18 in career rebounds

His freshman year is comparable to that of Will Thomas, Jai Lewis, Ryan Pearson, Luke Hancock, and Otis Livingston (but below that of George Evans).

This is the sort of career we should be expecting from him (that is, these are the good old days, right now)

I am truly mystified by Goanar's performance so far this season.

Minutes: 75
FG: 2 - 14
3 Pt: 0 - 9
FT: 1 - 1
Reb: 4
Assists: 0
TO: 5

Maybe the weight Gonar put on this off season is the reason why his game is off.

Not sure what the deal is with Goanar scoring wise.

That said he was contributing in other ways against JMU. He hit the boards hard and was playing really good defense. He’s way too talented all around and it’s a matter of time before his scoring comes. They need him in the second half of the year.

He looks a lot less lost on court right now than he did. And it’s good to see him playing defense and grabbing rebounds. A lot of his shots have been good ones, they just aren’t falling. It’s a good sign. I wish he didn’t start the year on such a poor note. We need him to be playing at his best.
