Gotta be Dixon and Abram, as long as they're agreeable.

Both could use the time to get stronger and acclimate to the college game, and both will undoubtedly be far better (barring injury) in their fifth year of eligibility than they'll be as true freshmen.

Thanks to the additions of Relvao and Grayer, both also play positions at which we now have someone else ready to take the backup minutes.

As pointed out, it would also help balance out the classes so we don't have a massive 6-man class. Those almost guarantee that 1-2 guys will be dissatisfied with playing time and transfer out.

It makes too much sense to not do it.

Out of curiosity, why would you think you would redshirt Dixon over Relvao? I'd think Relvao, being so new to the game would benefit more from a redshirt than Dixon, and just do like 8 million Mikan drills a day.

I hope you are kidding about thinking that Romania and Portugal share a border.

I'm a little torn on the idea of redshirts. A year ago we all were certain Trey Porter should have redshirted. A few bong hits later we were all thankful he didn't.

Redshirting as a freshman these days opens up the likelihood that the guy jumps to a bigger program his fifth year of eligibility. Also, with 4 more spots to fill next year, it would just delay our 6-man class for a year.

I say let them all play. More than likely one or two are going to see that they are probably not cut out to see a lot of the floor at Mason and they may make their own decisions to move on. If that happens, that's ok. We'll eventually get the balance we need.

Because Relvao is thicker and thus more suited to back up Shevon, while Dixon (despite being an inch taller) is more of a true PF who needs to add muscle to defend effectively in the post.

Dixon, to me, is similar to Marko, but just a little taller with a little less range on his jumper. Just going off his videos, he looks like a kid who is comfortable facing the basket and will excel in pick-and-pop situations out to 15-17 feet.

Relvao's video shows him flashing a nice stroke from 15 feet, but with his size and wingspan, he has great potential as a rim protector. His present and future are in the low post.

You can remove a player's redshirt at any moment. If, God forbid, we have another Copes situation and wind up shorthanded we can always just scrap the redshirt plan and throw one of the freshmen into the rotation.

It just doesn't make sense to me to not redshirt if you have a developmental prospect who you believe can become a significant contributor down the road.

You're never going to have meaningful minutes for more than 10-11 guys tops, and burning 25 percent of a player's eligibility for garbage minutes is stupid unless the kid and his family are just absolutely opposed to any suggestion of redshirting.

I'd rather risk losing a kid as a 5th-year senior, after which he presumably would've given us 3 seasons of increasingly valuable contribution, than cause a promising young guy to leave because he's frustrated over playing time.

I think there's a decent change Paulsen might fill 1 or 2 of next year's spots with JUCOs or transfers -- otherwise we will have 2 seniors and no juniors in 2016-17. Would be nice to bring in a 5th year guy and/or a rising junior who is immediately eligible.

There could be a rule change regarding 5th year transfers by next year. That would help mid majors whereas now it's hurting alot of them who lose guys to the bcs schools looking for a quick fix. See Damon Lee from Drexel now at Louisville, as an example.

I will admit I was on Ashley Madison under the guise "Dr.Humpenstein," which also happens to be the first user name registered to this site.
If, people will concede that Portugal hasn't accomplished anything since roughly the 16th century. They can't even beat us at soccer, and we barely try at that.

Given your...um..lifestyle, I would think that Portugal's colonization of the area now known as Brazil should be enough for your admiration.

Also, without Portugal's influence, we would never have gotten this tear-jerker of a cover (the ukulele is based on a Portuguese instrument):

Did you use your work email to sign-up? Now that explains the mini-Jollays you are finding at the playground.

Nice kid. He sat right in front of us icing his knee during the Colgate game. He chatted with us, told us the surgery went well and let us know about Royal's concussion. Not once did he shout out curse words like he had Tourette's syndrome in front of my small kids, a feat I cannot say Erik Copes accomplished while riding the stationary bike in front of us several times last season.

Daniel does seem like a good kid, so that's good to hear. I have to admit that it was kind of sad looking behind the bench and not seeing Therence Mayimba sitting in the first row cheering on the team. It sucks it didn't work out for him here, but it sounds like he found a new home that he's happy with.

What about the tall blonde gentlemen who sits a few rows behind you based on your description of your seats? :)

With 2 blocked shots in the 85-66 victory at Penn State last night, Daniel has a total of 3 blocks in his last 2 games played.
