Homesick now doesn't cut it.

The kid saw that everyone was better than him and he is going to ride the pine. Instead of waste another year here he wants to go back to Europe where he can be a "dominant" big man against all the crappy 5'6 Portugal kids. He will probably be like Shaq over there and knows he will have success if he goes back. His game is not cutting it here in the states.

4 days before the season starts is a big middle finger to his teammates and coaches IMO.

I think many are overlooking the possible human side of this...e.g. health of a parent, becoming a father, any number of things that you wouldn't put in a news release.

I was at part of a practice last week and he was the only person on the roster who wasn't there.

I have so many mixed emotions right now.

Year three of the Paulsen era and only 8 scholarship players. I think this is just the college landscape, but still disappointing none the less. Would of been nice to have more options this season. Kind of a selfish move to leave the program now. Perhaps the staff would have recruited a JUCO big even harder if he was gone at the end of the season. But im happy to have another spot open at the end of the season.
