I think GMUTom would be willing to hook Rhoads up on some interesting road trips. I think we all should make a road trip down.

I'm not pretending that I'm best friends with the guy, but I know he's a really strong family man. Wife, kids, the whole 9 yards.

Then again, I am too ... and I'd definitely be down for a GMUTom road trip.

A mid-season firing and the naming of his replacement quickly will send a strong message. To steal vcu's top assistant would be icing on the cake. Also bringing in young Larranaga would be cool.

My family stopped buying their season tickets this year. My little brother went to GT and saw the Hewitt train wreck. My dad's position was why pay for something that we already know will be bad. I can't argue.

Hewitt needs to go now. He is destroying Mason basketball. I will not go to another game until he is gone.

I'm a Mason lifer and will never give up my tickets or quit going to games. But at this point, it is a social event where I get to hang out with my friends in the Gold Room and with Tom and others during the game. Last year when we started losing home games, I realized that things were different and there was no point in getting upset (at least until the USF game this year).

And consider me a proud Group B'er.

Oh ok, I got it mixed up for some reason. I wish realcoachhewitt would come back because it would certainly provide comic relief during games...I could certainly see the person saying " Can we go back to the CAA now? Maybe the Big South?" to be funny.

Those who know me know I'm in favor of hiring a basset hound, and said so in 2011 many times. It would cost us about a grand to even begin negotiations with one, but once we do I think we could land one at well under whatever it would cost to hire the vcu retard.

Not on board with whoever Jim wants to hire. He's drunk most of the time and I think he wanted to hire Johnson and Hurley last time. Johnson has home losses to SC Upstate and UNC Greensboro this year (how would our fans react to that!) and Hurley literally might be the only coach in the A10 we can consistently beat.

I would put up with Jim's shenanigans for a car ride and cabin time with Tommy though.

A few rejoinders to my old Broadside pal Chris:

1. I am not drunk "most of the time." I work very hard to keep the percentage at 49.999 percent to appease my wife and my boss.

2. I absolutely would've preferred James Johnson to Hewitt, and still believe he'd be a better pick long term. He's digging out of a mess inherited from dumbass Uncle Fester's departure and it's going to take some time. But maybe I'm biased because I really like JJ personally ... or perhaps I'm just drunk.

3. I don't recall advocating for any Hurleys, but if I did, I'd prefer Bob Hurley Sr. He's the only member of that family who's proven dick as a coach.

4. I'd also support hiring a basset hound if it meant we could finally get rid of the clown we currently employ. My Sheltie would be jealous, but tough shit for him -- he can't even play fetch without screwing up.
