Name the next head coach (a GMUJim tribute album)

I could jump on the Andy Toole bandwagon pretty easily. Like I said before, his teams always play hard and are well-disciplined and well-coached.

If hired, Andy Toole would be Mason's third consecutive men's basketball coach who grew up in the NYC area.

I have a feeling Ben Howland is our guy although reports have indicated our new coach is still coaching. I have heard that Howland is difficult to deal with, which is a very nice way of saying it.

Danny Hurley swings from the "whiny brat" branch of the Hurley family tree.

As has been duly noted, all coaches complain to a certain extent.

But from what I've seen of Bobby since he's been coaching, he's not nearly as bad as his brother.

I saw Bobby coach his team against Binghamton University this year. I didn't notice much whining. Then again, it was BU and they had a comfortable lead throughout.

As long as he also swings from the wins games and doesn't get your program into the deep kimchi branches too, than I could care less.

Bobby Hurley is now at the top of my wish list. On paper, his team had no business hanging with WVU today, but he recruited tough kids who believed in their ability and the game plan.

Kudos to Hurley for getting Buffalo into the tournament for the first time ever, and for showing that they belonged; time to join your brother in the A10.

I don't care if people think he's a "nice guy." I don't plan on hanging out with him. So long as he wins (and runs a clean program) I could care less if he is difficult to deal with.

Adam Zagoria reporting that DePaul job is Howland's to turn down. Also mentioned Hurley on short list if Howland declines.

Since Howland (a native Oregonian) turned down Oregon State, I see no reason whatsoever why he'd go to a coaching graveyard in DePaul.

They're both terrible jobs where it's basically impossible to finish any better than middle of the pack, and it's been a long time since either has been even that good.

There's always money. DePaul has it to burn thanks to the Fox deal. But Howland has plenty of money ... he needs to go somewhere he can win because at his age, if he gets fired again, he might be done for good.

This is what I thought about our last hire. Doh!

Starting to think Howland should be our #1 target with Hurley #2 and Toole #3. If we can't get one of these then Caputo or Cherry would be okay.

I'm not an expert on DePaul by any means but some of those names seem bizarre. I wouldn't think a coach at Richmond would make what seems like such a lateral move, for example. Lot of issues at DePaul such as arena location and the fact that while they are next to the hot bed of Chicago recruiting wise, you are competing with pretty much every national power school. I think DePaul will need to get someone who knows Chicago recruiting very well if they have any hope of a turnaround.
