seating can be decided by powers ar be. my point was to give the bball programs autonomy from the events side. not saying they cant do events there, but make sure everyone knows the EBA is The Basketball Arena.

Looking forward to the pictures you will be uploading soon. ;)
I would have posted more - but we walked about 5 miles around campus today. The whole place is so much bigger and expanded. The new Ike's is amazing - as large as Southside with a lot of chef areas.

Not a surprise - it is already surrounded by the campus as is. Best use of the land and no other obvious use.

Originally was discussed as a potential Greek row site in 07 or 08. Will be interesting to see what route they go now if they do acquire it.

There was also some discussion that the ROTC program could build their facilities there. It is a solid patch of land.

Has there been any updates on the practice facility? Mike Mo and Pearson are still waiting on the promise of one lol.

Edwards said at the Patriot Club golf tourney we're about to start phase 1 of the baseball stadium improvements.

I don't know, some shit about drains and painting stuff. Glad we could finally do the basics at least. Phase II might be trickier.

The BOV basically gave permission for the Athletic Department to fund raise as we all know. They have to get 13 million cash before they can actually start building. Once they have about half, there will be a request from the masses for donations (like bricks or something). For now they are focusing on getting big donors (probably a corporate name), and they will try to do it as fast as possible.

I was under the assumption they already have the money raised, just needed the BoV to approve the rest since it comes from the general fund.

From what we've been told, 80% of funds have to be donated through 'big' donations before they go public. I put in my two cents about corporate donors and asked for no naming rights because people would lose their minds (I know I would).

By George and GK will host fundraising events once the threshold is reached for public 'small' donations, so make sure to come through!

I think they're only taking $25K+ donations rn.

Other news;
Baseball stadium expansions might take place this late this summer. Still no official announcement / start date as of yet.

Nothing comes from the general fund. It is a 100% donor funded facility. The House Bill is just allowing the university to begin calling and asking for donations to build. Lots of red tape since we are a state institution.

I think they requested some of the Shirley gate land because they do their drills in those woods. Not sure what the decision on that was. Green Acres seems too prime of real estate to not have some sort of housing project there.

Weird, a few years ago phase I was supposed to be the dugouts and grandstand. Hopefully they have the money for this.

Any guess as to what total they're at?

I heard that too - but they also need a drill field and buildings for the military education/classes - that land seems to be perfectly suited to do that - could put a nice drill and parade field with buildings around it. Since it is located near heart of campus it would be convenient.
