BOV meeting minutes are out. Nothing new really but they gave approval to change the master plan to include the practice facility. And somehow Academic VII is two months behind schedule.

I think the snow has an impact on that.

GIVING DAY 2023
Was in the area over the weekend, and decided to take a walk around campus for the first time since May 2013. It's remarkable how much the campus has evolved in the nearly 3 years since I had last been on it.

The library is pretty damn awesome, new dorms, new Ike's, the new Science building, the road thru West Campus and a few JC changes. It'll be exciting to follow the numerous additions and changes in the coming years.

You would be amazed - that 1-2 weeks of snow -- has a cascade effect on material shipments, etc
Yeah I guess. You would think they'd factor some level of snow into initial estimates though.

Also, heard the baseball field is breaking ground this summer. Anyone know if that's true?

When one of those changes is a practice facility I'll be excited.

GIVING DAY 2023
Kinda funny, like giving the green light for someone to go find their own money. Pretty cool though, lends a seriousness and a sort of "official stamp" to the project.

Wonder if the step of publicly seeking state approval is the precursor to an official fundraising campaign, or if the money has already been raised through corporate donations and getting the OK from the state is essentially a formality?

I know many of us here have pledged to support construction of the practice facility if the university would take concrete action to show it's more than just a set of drawings gathering dust in somebody's office.

Perhaps this is the first step in doing just that.
