I don't want to defend Hewitt. But he only had 2+ losing seasons. The third season in a row was a DP led team.

I'm a fan of George Mason, and I just want what is best for Mason. Can we honestly say Paulsen is best for Mason.

I don't know if Paulsen is the best for Mason, but I do know that a coaching search right now would be catastrophic for Mason. Consistency at the coaching position is a must have for successful programs. How could you be so quick to judge?

Would you feel a coach search at the end of the season would be catastrophic? We saw what happens when you have 1 too many bad seasons under Hewitt.

We study history so we don't make the same mistake twice, but from what I see we are going down the same path. Please God, let me be wrong.

Honestly that is fair. I just want George Mason fans to start being more critical. I just want DP's leash to start shrinking. We need to stop acting like he is our savior, when in fact we have no idea.

I'm amazed at how you think taking over that 2011 team with basically only losing Hancock is the same situation that Paulsen took over. Players don't transfer when the coach leaving is a total surprise like with Coach L. You act like Paulsen "lost" all those guards because he's a shitty coach it just the dumbest misconception I've seen here. Players transfer out quickly when a coach is canned.

I need to know why people are still believers in Paulsen. What do you see that excites you? I know I'm on an island but I expected Mason to be really competitive last season. Moore and Jenkins are really good players.

But this third season reminds me of Hewitt's third season where he finished 11-20 overall. and 4-12 in conference play. Hate on Hewitt as much as you want, because he deserves it. But frankly DP hasn't accomplished anything more then Hewitt at this point.

Mason was equally competitive in their inaugural A10 Season under Hewitt as they are under DP. Hewitt was playing in a much tougher A10. (5 teams made the tournament that year). Despite the competitive nature of the league that year, his worst loss was to Dayton by 17 points. that same Dayton team made the elite 8.

Paulsen already has 2 losses over 20 points half way through the season.

Anyhow, the difference between Hewitt and Paulsen is that Hewitt was handed the keys to a Ferrari and managed to turn it into a milk truck, and Paulsen was handed that milk truck and is being asked to race against Ferraris.

Any Virus team was one that I could literally say "turnover" and it would happen. This with a fully staffed team. Yes we are struggling but what do you expect with a short bench so many freshmen.
