Huge Mason fan and Paulsen supporter here. What is going on this year with Ian boyd? He is the worst player in our rotation. He seems to have a lack of effort and looks seriously injured. This season is already a washout so why doesn't he get fixed and sit out. Or is he really just that bad? Otis is top 3 all time Mason players. I wish he had a great team to play with.

Otis wouldn't have started in 2006 or 2011. So, no.

Man Davidson's bus broke down and they Ubered to the game as a team. But I guess nobody told the crowd....davidson couldnt bring their uniforms so we let them wear our home whites, while we wore some old red ones. Hope that straightens out what we saw today. Clearly Davidson was rattled from barely making the game. They will bounce back in sure. Great Coach that McKillop.

Apparently the uniforms were correct. Davidson did bring their uni's. We forgot our game.

This is something I have been wondering for a while. The game is out of hand, Davidson put their walk on's in, Paulsen should do the same. My seat neighbor thinks that Paulsen is punishing his players by keeping them in when the game is out of hand. I mean, Paulsen had to get walk on's just to have practice because of the all the players that transferred, should let them play when the time allows.

He did take Otis out at the end and gave him a break. On tv they zoomed in on Otis and he was visibly frustrated. The announcers basically said it was a shame he got no support. At one point they put up a graphic Otis 20 points, rest of team 29. Pretty sad.

Otis is one of the most positive players I’ve seen But, he’s also a competitor. Wonder when these efforts break the team psychologically and we see it on the court.

Good to see that they’ve started looking for calixte a bit more and are feeding him the ball. He showed some decent post moves. He’s also giving us some post defense, but will get eaten by good upperclassmen.

Mar is not going to be as effective in conference play. Teams will key on him and Otis. Take one or both of them away and we don’t have much else on offense.

Kier inexplicably disappeared over the last few games and needs to find an outside stroke. He’s not as effective getting to the basket right now and teams don’t have to play up on him, which makes it hard for anyone else to find an open lane.

Grayer, for as good as he is, won’t help us until he can finish around the basket. Possibly our most versatile player, but doesn’t attack the rim. What happened to him taking over for MM?

Don’t know what to make of Boyd. He shows flashes, but hasn’t provided much. Gonna stick with the idea he might be hurt.

AJ is just a disaster at this point. He had three or for possessions in a row when we were still in the game that lead to Davidson pushing out the lead in the first half. If he could get it together, I think we’d be more competitive and optimistic. Really disappointing for a redshirt freshman.

As a team our rebounding is bad. We don’t have a team mentality for crashing the glass like last year. With our lack of size we need everyone going for the boards. Not to mention that we are not pulling down any offensive boards and we shoot like .

I get everyone is upset that we are getting blown out, especially at home. But we just don’t have the horses this year. I’m convinced that if AJ could play under control we’ll at least be competitive the rest of the year with two serviceable bigs, Otis, Mar and Grayer. That’s my ideal lineup. But, I don’t know if AJ can do it.

If this happens again next year I’ll be more inclined to say we are in trouble. This year sucks, but it’s still not as bad as seeing a Hewitt team full of potential playing like real crap for no reason.

BTW most losses in a season for Mason is 23.

I knew this season would be tough and didn't have big expectations but I'm shocked at the beat downs recently outside of RI. A-10 is way down - Davidson had a losing record going into the game yesterday they are not a great team that should beat this team at home by 25+.

I get this team will struggle scoring but where is the defense?? Drop the man to man and switches - its not working - can't image this team would do any worse sitting in a zone for the entire game.

Most def, while he did have the ability to rain some 3s from time to time, I mostly remember #45 as out of control with the ball and other people's credit cards.

I need to know why people are still believers in Paulsen. What do you see that excites you? I know I'm on an island but I expected Mason to be really competitive last season. Moore and Jenkins are really good players.

But this third season reminds me of Hewitt's third season where he finished 11-20 overall. and 4-12 in conference play. Hate on Hewitt as much as you want, because he deserves it. But frankly DP hasn't accomplished anything more then Hewitt at this point.

Mason was equally competitive in their inaugural A10 Season under Hewitt as they are under DP. Hewitt was playing in a much tougher A10. (5 teams made the tournament that year). Despite the competitive nature of the league that year, his worst loss was to Dayton by 17 points. that same Dayton team made the elite 8.

Paulsen already has 2 losses over 20 points half way through the season.

It is true that the double standards between judging Hewitt and Paulsen's performance are pretty obvious.

As I've met and know some of you pretty well, I can confidently state that this is probably due at least partially to racism, as I consider most of you to be the dredges of humanity.

Real bottom feeders.

Taking a team that lost 20+ games three years in a row and winning 20 is more of accomplishment then Hewitt's steady losing.

If its just a practice year and the games mean nothing how about we drop tickets to $5-10 dollars. No idea why people would pay their hard earned money when its just practice going on the court. At this point i am not even sure we could give tickets away.

Because rebuilding programs from the ground up is a long and painful process, and this season is part of that process. I get that we all want success now, and obviously I do too. But success isn't random. Quite the opposite. It's intentional, and takes a foundation to support it. I personally think that Paulsen is building a good foundation but part of that foundation is financial, so I'm willing to pay some money to be a part of that process even if it's in the bad parts of it. I will eventually expect consistent winning, but I still feel we're setting ourselves up well for the next 2-3 years. Obviously I could be wrong, but that's pretty much why I'm willing to pay for what I essentially view is practice.

I don't want to defend Hewitt. But he only had 2+ losing seasons. The third season in a row was a DP led team.

I'm a fan of George Mason, and I just want what is best for Mason. Can we honestly say Paulsen is best for Mason.
