I thought DP overachieved with his roster last year.
You know, Year 2.
Wasn't his guys. You know, they were Mr. Virus'.

Give him credit for getting them out? Are you kidding me? Yea let's double his salary while we are at it. Hold a parade in Fairfax city. Thank God DP got them out. Before all that, tell me who brought them in.
Getting better classes each year? I guess you are technically right if your standard starts at community college, then d2, then d3 then d1. We are a mixture of all these. When we get guys that aren't transferring down, maybe more d1 guys will stick around.
Wrong. COACH L and DP both had a player go to the NBA before they arrived. Neither had a FF or were head at a power 5. When Coach L arrived on campus and I drove him around to meet the fraternities and sororities, nobody in our fan base knew who he was other than getting antonio Daniels into the NBA. However, We, as a program were so deep in dumps, that that glimmer of light, of Coach L getting a kid into the NBA from a no name Bowling Green program, was enough to generate some hope. DP brought us some of that same hope. Except he mis managed the rebuild by bringing in more junk, instead of taking a year to clear out, and reboot.

Moore and Jenkins were only sophomores under Hewitt. Perhaps they would have developed just fine. It is impossible to know if their success was a result of DP, or the fact they just got more experience.Nope, they weren't. But still managed to get more out of them than Hewitt ever did.
If we could have Hewitt recruit them and DP Coach them, I think we'd have a pretty darn good team.
Hypothetically, If you were the AD or if you had strong influence, what would you do at this point?
What is the path forward from here?
Only asking because you've made it quite clear how you feel about the current situation and speak about it as if the answer is obvious.
I can't believe just said that!! From the fact that we have two Juniors and nothing higher says that we have many players to develop.Moore and Jenkins were only sophomores under Hewitt. Perhaps they would have developed just fine. It is impossible to know if their success was a result of DP, or the fact they just got more experience.

Comments like these make no sense to me. Because every rebuild goes perfectly according to plan and recruiting is easy for Fairfax suburb school right? If this team challenges for top of the A-10 next year how did he mismanage anything? It's year f-ing 3.
You are wasting your time here Gobo. Trust me.

Good stuff except for AJ that kid is clueless!!Chank,
1st,
Priority one would be not to repeat this situation where our roster is left out to dry. To make sure the staff knows what is going on with each player. I truly believe DP has a family style atmosphere so he and/or staff should be, at the least, in communication with the players all season. Doing this right would allow for stronger relationships going forward and possibly getting a heads up that a transfer is coming. (Newman/Revallo).
2nd, no more extensions for a year or two. Yea, we are behind and we trust your process. But if your process is going from lets try to win from day one, to then oh we need to clear guys out, back to lets win now, then we are simply on a roller coaster ride with someone high on Mt. Dew. You can't have it both ways. Build it slow or win now don't go hand in hand with D2 level talent. Back to the drawing board.
3rd, get players worthy of the conference. if you can't then you aren't doing your job. Also, by year 5, we are in top 4, with a reloading type recruitment system. Meaning we don't lose kids to Umass who are coached in high school by a former Mason legend, and one of your buddies. that is just pathetic. Even if the kid can't play in year one, b/c of Otis, he should wanna come here so bad b/c of the impression you have made on him that he won't mind a red shirt.
4th, no more mt. dew. its been reported that the chemicals in that drink may cause holes in your brain. Which in turn cause delusion (thinking Reuter is gonna be a savior and going all in with him while having no other big man prospects for spring), forgetfullness (AJ needs to play more since that is a position of need and development. yet you don't b/c you want win now or you build it slow? Which is it?), and stubbornness (change the f*cking defenses!, use your speed to generate turnovers in half court that lead to easy run outs).
I'm sure Brad knows all of this and will address it in off season. I will be shocked if he gets an extension again.
Lets challenge for top of A10 next year, then I will come and eat crow. How does that sound fake Gobo account?
Would love your examples of other coaches who turned around similar programs and who weren't handing out Adidas bags with $100K inside to recruits.
This is quite possibly the stupidest argument that you have ever made. What player did Hewitt ever develop? How many similarly-talented players did you have to see him waste?Moore and Jenkins were only sophomores under Hewitt. Perhaps they would have developed just fine. It is impossible to know if their success was a result of DP, or the fact they just got more experience.
Hewitt pretty much wasted a year of Jenkins eligibility trying to make him play as a 3 on the wing. This is quite possibly the stupidest argument that you have ever made. What player did Hewitt ever develop? How many similarly-talented players did you have to see him waste?
Chill out. You saw the progression of Moore even under Hewitt. This is quite possibly the stupidest argument that you have ever made. What player did Hewitt ever develop? How many similarly-talented players did you have to see him waste?
No. Biggest jump his senior year. Gotta look at more than points (which was a .1 ppg difference). Watch the games. He also won the conference’s most improved player award last year. On this, you have no leg to stand.Chill out. You saw the progression of Moore even under Hewitt.
Freshman average: 3.9 points 2.4 rebounds
Sophomore- 9.5 points 3.2 rebounds
Junior- 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds
Senior- 16.9 points 10.9 rebounds
Big jump his sophomore year
