What makes you say that though. Brad fired Hewitt after his 4th year. No way Paulsen deserves 6 years. We’re sure he’ll be back. If we’re wrong, we’ll have event you can peg tomatoes at Bryan.

Dude he fired Hewitt with one year left on his deal.. if Paulsen doesn’t perform next season he will be gone. Mason is not a program that can afford to fire a coach with multiple years left on their contract. In reference to the Hewitt firing-
“Mason made a significant commitment to its athletic programs, especially men’s basketball, when the university moved to the Atlantic 10 Conference two years ago,” George Mason Director of Athletics Brad Edwards said in a statement. “The university has high expectations for the program and thus determined a change was needed."
Mason has shown commitment to the basketball program by firing Hewitt. They built a dedicated practice facility, they renovated the locker room. They made enhancements to the arena. I can’t imagine mason investing that much money into the program and be content with the results.

You’re probably right, but everyone is just speculating. We have no idea of Mason’s financials. Not to mention Paulsen’s contract isn’t as rich as Hewitts.Dude he fired Hewitt with one year left on his deal.. if Paulsen doesn’t perform next season he will be gone. Perhaps BE knew he would be willing to fire Paulsen with two years left on his contract. That’s why he gave him extensions when it wasn’t warranted.Dude he fired Hewitt with one year left on his deal.. if Paulsen doesn’t perform next season he will be gone. The difference is the previous AD hired Hewitt and our current AD hired Paulsen, so there was a lot less leash given to Hewitt.

Agreed because firing Dave is an admission by Brad that he made a bad hire.

Would really appreciate whoever posts on this account to maybe include initials after since I don’t think YOU necessarily 180’d but someone else on this account certainly likes paulsen alot less than you. Unless after us continuing to lose the last three weeks has changed their minds too lolYour opinion is heard but Brad believes Dave knows his X’s and O’s and is committed to recruiting top A10 talent. They have a good working relationship, Brad supports Dave. You want that from your AD. Clearly Brad could be wrong about DP but DP is respected across the A10. Not here to convince anyone, we have convinced ourselves countless times the last few years, but just filling you in on what I know.
I wouldn’t even describe his seat as hot yet going into next year. People asked why I did a 180 in this thread, it’s because I realized there was no chance he was getting fired after this year. Soooo, go green go gold...fight fight fight.

Will Paulsen have an outstanding 2020-21 season, and receive a multi-year contract extension?
Unless the incoming freshmen are the second coming of Michael, Magic, and Larry I wouldn't bet the farm.
Given that scenario we'd probably finish 6th or 7th at best. Not trying to be Debbie Downer but we were picked 9th this year with Kier, Boyd, AJ, and the crew. How about very good freshmen, and the return of AJ and a healthy Kier?
