Oduro is not great, but can be. He isn't bad currently. He is still a Freshman. Don't look at Tre Mitchell who got paid to go to UMASS and will probably transfer after this season.

100% his fault. losing 9 of past 11 games. Losing players due to injuries is hard, but failing to fill out a 13 man roster in the A10 is on the coach.

I would rather fire Paulsen now than after next year. Firing him now will have enough time for his replacement to backfill the current junior class.

Feels like a critical juncture approaches. The new president will set the tone. If the selection is underwhelming, I have a sinking feeling that basketball as a "side door" will be back in play, Paulsen will survive due to perception of recruiting high-character student athletes and Mason will go back to doing typical George Mason, small-time things. I was just thinking that is it necessarily the recruiting per se, but the lack of development at key spots? Think about the 4 and 5 spots specifically, and specifically Calixte and Mar.

So, Calixte comes in and as a freshman shows some promise. Yeah, he wasn't gifted on the offensive side of the ball, but this is something you would think being in the program would improve year over year as he worked on his post moves and his touch around the rim, but he's only gotten worse and worse and worse. It's not like Calixte was going to become an ultra-skilled 5, but if you take someone who could play tough interior defense like he can (at his best) and give him even competent post moves, you've got a guy who can give you 25 mpg and stabilize that 5 spot.

Mar is in an even worse position, because you take a freshman who was just out side the all-freshman team and he becomes basically a useless player by his junior year.

If you get a normal development curve out of Calixte and Mar, this roster fills out more nicely -- Calixte is your starting 5 and Mar is backing up Miller and AJ at the 3 and 4 spots and playing 20-24 mpg.

I'm worried about Hartwell and Miller right now, but especially Miller because he keeps being moved back and forth between the 3 and 4 spots and it looks like the moxie he showed his freshman year is starting to disappear and that's not good.

My point was and is that according to sleeperpick this kid is hot garbage....i disagree. He's already light years ahead to Greg. I can separate my dislike for the job DP is doing and also give an objective evaluation of the kids on the roster.

No but you can coach angles and positioning and strength training. So yeah, he might get exposed on the isolation against a big who can take it to the rim from the perimeter or shoot from outside, but you can also scheme to mitigate that weakness.

What is his ceiling? Probably not all-A10 but sleeper was talking like he was worse than Sam Harris (I might have that ODU kids first name wrong), YMCA scrub bad.

You can definitely coach athleticism. Coaching is year round, offseason is about working on agility, strength, coordination and speed. Just cause we may not see massive improvements, doesn’t mean it’s not a coaches responsibility.

People have been wrong about Oduro, he’s definitely a capable starter in the A10. Would have been nice to redshirt him but we never have that type of flexibility with DPs rosters.

Oduro is the size of a doorframe, yeah he’s going to be a little unathletic and awkward at 18. Yesterday DP had a key chance to build up Oduro’s confidence forcing him the ball on the block when Tre picked up his 3rd foul and didn’t exit the game. Unfortunately it seems like our staff didn’t even recognize Tre had picked up his 3rd and we wasted multiple opportunities in a few possessions.

Oduro is a local kid from one of the best HS programs in the nation, complain about something else already, there’s a ton of other issues.
