Anyone who looks at what we have coming in plus what we have now and sees us outside of the bottom 4 is delusional. I don’t see us with more than 3 more wins this season even if we stayed completely healthy this year.

Not to be antagonistic, but pretty much the same with the exception of 3 freshmen and unless one of those 3 freshmen is Tre Mitchell, why would you not expect more of the same?

Normally, I would say that this team (given Kier is probably already gone) would have an offseason to get better together, but I don't think you can count on the team getting any better, or any individual either, given the last two years.

Agreed. We were picked 9th in some polls before the season even started.

3 more wins puts them at 5-5 and tied with Davidson for 8th right now. I'd take that in a heartbeat right now.

To me, the way this team has been playing lately, I don't see any justification to bringing Paulsen back. He's allowed this season to go off the rails and the players feel it and are playing like it.

It’s not just the incoming freshmen. Lots of moving parts in play right now.

Is this rock bottom? Last years 40 point (or whatever) loss to vcu on senior night felt low for me but could live with our finish in the A10. This however....I’d rather be smacked in the face with a large dildo.

I think this is worse, because it’s one thing to lose to a bad team on the road when that team has an uncharacteristically good game, but UMass was just as bad as we were and really tried to throw the game to us at the end. Not to mention not even being competitive in half our home games in the A10.

Also with the vcu game last year, they really expended tons of energy on the defensive side of the ball and held vcu to under 10 points for most of the half, but just ran out of gas and got steamrolled after that — but the effort was there.

Exactly what I was thinking. Normally, you would expect a guy like Oduro to get noticeably better in year 2. However, this had just not been the case the last 2 years. Unless, Paulsen somehow pulls the transfer of the decade out of his butt, we're just continuing to spin our wheels in the mud.
