This year has been the smallest jump, though for sure.

I don't agree yet with this assessment. Mason has a very young team that is getting pounded at times. Certainly, it appears ugly on the surface. That can go one of two ways: 1.) It will make these young player's whine, whimper, and cower away, or 2.) Make them battle-tested, unafraid, and super-tough to beat. It all depends on how Coach Dave develops their maturity.

If you go with scenario 2 then this season has the potential to be quite a big leap. I don't think Dave will allow scenario 1 to happen.

Agreed. To compare Paulsen to Hewitt is laughable at best. Even coming from DJ3. Remember when, instead of counting #’s of dews slain, we were counting how many times our coach took his hands out of his pockets?

As I said in my original post I'm not defending Hewitt. He sucked! I never wanted him to be our coach. When the announcement was made, I schedule a meeting with TOC to voice my complaint.

The intent of my post was you can make excuses for anyone. I rather live by this philosophy; excuses are tools of the incompetent, and those who specialize in them seldom go far.

1. I vastly underrated the strength of our schedule. We have played some pretty damn good teams. Toughest OOC slate I can recall in a long time.

2. Dave made this schedule expecting to have at least some semblance of a full roster — not 8 eligible scholarship players including four freshmen.

Also, even if these teams weren't better than advertised, pretty sure they still beat us, just by 5-12 points instead of like 15-22.

Led by three seniors DP recruited, Bucknell won at Richmond tonight after losing by 6 in a highly competitive game at vcu on Saturday.

Just in case anyone is wondering if he can recruit at an A-10 level.

I agree! I think anonymous surveys are a great piece of information to show who would be a coaching star! I think we should write Bard another letter to voice our displeasure. Please send him this letter and let me know his response.

Why do you still have David Paulson? He sucks. He doens't recruit stars or guys who are above 6'7 which was deemed a magical height by the terrible Paulie Hewitt. Why is that? We need stars and size!

Also, instead of extended Paulson, please hire Chris Caputo. He has never head coached, but an anonymous survey said hes next to be a super coach! He can be the next Will Wade and turn the program in two years! We can be the next Kentucky! He will recruit us size and stars!

I'd like to meet with you to discuss why Hewitt was hired, why Abraham transferred, and why Paulson is getting extensions. Also, I'd like to know progress on Mason football.
