Yeah! I totally agree. Join the crusade with my brother DJ3. Size! We need a 5! Where are the JUCOs that Paulsen could have signed. I think we could have had 3 JUCO center's all at 7 feet come to Mason. Add to the fact you have a guy like Abraham who could have stuck around, we'd have SIZE and a REAL TEAM. Oh why oh why can't we just get SIZE man. Lets join up and email Paulsen and Brad tonight, you in?
Love your name!

The Great ones have attitudes like this “He needs to get better now… if you’re patiently going about it, you’ll never get there.”

Ok well Paulsen can't lock himself in a gym and practice recruiting every night. Not exactly a great comparison.
You’re right, I was comparing apples and oranges. However, I just love the philosophy. DP basically said this year is just practice for next year.

I fundamentally disagree with this philosophy. You play to win now, you recruit to win now. Perhaps DP went after Grad and JUCO players, but he didn't land any.

In my opinion, his number 1 priority should have been recruiting a center who could be impactful this year, and not next year.

Haven't you posted hundreds of times under various aliases in the last few weeks? The old boards had awards each year - I nominate you for "Drain Poster of the year".

Do you have any new perspectives or do we have to go to the boards and read your opinion over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over?

Didn't you just get married? Congratulations - now go get some and enjoy life.

I mean, I agree with you in terms of perception, and I bet most on here do as well. I wish he hadn't publicly stated it. I think most of us who follow the program could look at the roster and understand this would be the case. That being said, a foundation has to be laid. This isn't the NBA, sucking for a year won't land you a great player. I'd say after next year if there's no NIT berth at a minimum then some serious conversations need to be had.

"Well, it's not gonna do us any good sitting here whining about it. We're in a hole. We're just going to have to dig ourselves out."

I complain, because the fans should not tolerate mediocracy. College Athletic programs are directly linked to school branding and reputation. Athletics have far-reaching implications for students, faculty, and the community. Athletic programs drive enrollment and heighten college profiles.

Researchers discovered 40% percent of students chose their college partly for its social life. Schools with quality athletic programs are meccas of social activity. Students don't only go to college for the education, they want the college experience.

My goal for Mason is to not merely have sports teams, but to have a sport culture which represent long-lived brands that engulf Fairfax/NOVA and permeate the state. Branding translates to MONEY!, but it also lures further donations from Alumni.

Yes, this is why all the top 25 schools in the country are all top athletic schools...oh wait.
