Paulsen has clearly proven that he can coach the game of basketball. That is a huge step in the right direction for our program after four years of clown car.

The #1 question in my mind is whether he can successfully recruit scholarship players ... especially the type of players we will need to win in the A-10.

If I'm reading his background correctly, he was a head coach in DIII and a non-scholarship DI league.

Hopefully he will bring in some shooters (think Davidson?????) to go with our athletes, since lower-level programs tend to rely on fundamentally sound guys who can hit the 3.

And that's the only question we have...can he get the players he needs for the A10....

This where the assistants come in. I hope he hires the right one or two to get those players and not formulate a PL or lower division staff.

He's beaten several A10 teams with Patriot League talent, so I'm sure he'll figure it out. Looking forward to getting some guards in here. I wonder if any recruits he already signed for Bucknell are ready for the jump.

I actually am excited to see Moore. From what I'm seen/read about his offense, it seems to favor a drive and kick PG, which suits Moore perfectly. We're not asking the PG to come off screens and shoot jumpers.

It's not my favorite style in the world, but as I've said before, I think having a system and knowing it and being able to teach it are more important than what the system actually is (See Georgia tech's football program).

An added bonus is that I think we have some pieces that fit (what we don't have is the face up big to allow for pick/pop action. I wonder if Porter might be this guy eventually)

For the face up big, would Royal (potentially) be able to play that role? I dont know if thats possible or if hes even that type, but merely interested.

Was anyone else just listening to the Junkies? EB killed the hire for no reason beyond the fact that he thinks very little of Bucknell, but Pete Medhurst chimed in and said it was a great hire and the guy has been a winner everywhere he's been. Funny, Pete even gave a shoutout to the boards during his defense of the hire.

Geeez. Typical. The only school EB and them really pay attention to is Maryland. Glad Medhurst set him straight....Paulsen has a proven track record, and as many have pointed out, is a much needed contrast to Hewitt's lack of preparation and in-game strategy!

Maybe they will change their tune when we beat Maryland in the tourney

I find them funny, but it's a known thing that they're Maryland guys. Who cares what they think? If Paulsen creates a winning program, they'll be onboard. I doubt they gave two hoots about Jim Larranaga either, but by the end, he was a regular guest. Winning cures all ills.

If you go to my link - it starts around the 11 minute mark on segment 9.

I feel dumber for having listened to that. What idiots! Did he say "much like the rest of pigs who don't know basketball on their message board"? Did I hear that right? I thought most of us liked the hire.

And no respect for any adult who says "sorry, not sorry"
