Good finds, Gunnie. I nominate Corey Edwards for understatement of the year:

Our offense is stagnant at times,” admitted Edwards

Some more fun links - apologize if these have been posted already:

"Years later at the 2010 Final Four, a Division I coach would tell me and Colin Dunlap that Paul Hewitt was the worst coach to make it to a Final Four."

"Brad and I talk all the time and we meet once a week to talk about games, the state of the program, what’s going on in our lives,” Hewitt said. “I’m not into mind-reading. He hasn’t said anything one way or the other so I just go about doing my job day by day.”

I smell some bs from Hewitt on that quote..not that we've never had bs from Hewitt before :bricks:

I really have to wonder what is said when the discussion about the state of the program takes place each week, especially if Hewitt can't read Brad's mind on the topic...

I think you would have several thousand George Mason basketball fans agree with that DI coach that Paul Hewitt sucks. I work with a Mason guy who can’t wait till they fire Hewitt. I’m telling you with the right guy, that program could be Top 25 on the regular. Great area to recruit, alumni with money, etc.

So where are all of the high rollers?

I have a two part response to that:

1. TOC (and Merten), effectively, discouraged high rollers from donating. A typical high roller is going to want something in return for a huge donation. Typically, some perks or some sort of influence. TOC would have none of that. Bye-bye potential high roller. The Mason AD has a good number of decent income supporters, that are glad to give a nice sum of money, but no game changer high rollers, or at least ones willing to give a huge donation to Mason (yet...).

2. I would think your typical high roller has gotten there from running a successful business. I think they might be a little turned off by the manner the AD has been run to date.

I think Tom is right. Many loved the move into the A10. Now we just need to deliver the product with consistency.

There's definitely a lot of alumni who have money but just don't care because the team has been awful and poorly marketed. I would venture to say there is a significant alumni donor base that still needs to be tapped but just hasn't yet. I could be wrong but maybe.

Nope. There are none.

I literally have met no one who graduated from Mason that has gone on to be the least bit successful at life. I myself am a part time security guard and substitute teacher, which is by no means impressive considering my remarkable intellect.

All my friends that I either graduated with are in jail, involved in the porn industry or with prostitution somehow, or remarkably non-successful like me.

Face it..... huge donors are not going to newly donate a large sum of cash to a program that has been losing. Need to get winners on the floor and with winning comes money.

Unless we track down Charlie Sheen and tell him that we are throwing these huge hooker and blow parties and the yearly donation is 1 million.

What about Geo? Doesn't he make millions?
