Countdown to the End of the Coach Hewitt Era

GIVING DAY 2023
I forgot to set up the DVR for the game tonight a rare one that is actually on tv. It's poker night and I definitely have my priorities straight. I'll just check the box score after the game and see another double digit loss and just hope Shevon got another double double. I used to never miss watching a game but apathy is even starting to set in with me.

I got offered a ticket to Caps/Pens. Not missing that.

Good choice. Since it's a non-playoff game, the Caps could win. :dead:

Didnt mean to cause a stir with my first post. I want PH gone just as much as anyone else. Just wanted to clear that up.
Imagine if ISIS wore green and gold and had some disposable income for basketball tickets and cable subscriptions. Then multiply that by a factor of 10. At that point you're approaching the intensity of feeling towards Hewitt that many on this forum possess.

Welcome. ;)

I think you guys are crazy. Coach Hewitt finally has guys he recruited for the A-10 and just needs 4 or 5 more years to get them ready.

Also, injuries. Players have injuries. Can't be expected to win if guys have injuries.

Brad Edwards should extend his contract - preferably an auto-renewing one.

Auto-renewing with a monthly retention bonus...why skimp?

With a longevity bonus on January 1.

Does anyone doubt that Senior Night vs GW will be Coach Hewitt's final home game at Mason?

No. It will be interesting to see the crowd reaction when he's introduced, and even more interested to see BE's reaction to the response.

I hope the crowd doesn't boo. It's the Seniors last home game - just let the focus be on them and don't let Paul Ball dissatisfaction distract from that.

The die is cast at this point one way or the other. A little extra booing isn't going to force Edwards' hand in either direction.

Corey is going to get a loud pop (pro wrestling reference).

Some more fun links - apologize if these have been posted already:

"Years later at the 2010 Final Four, a Division I coach would tell me and Colin Dunlap that Paul Hewitt was the worst coach to make it to a Final Four."

"Brad and I talk all the time and we meet once a week to talk about games, the state of the program, what’s going on in our lives,” Hewitt said. “I’m not into mind-reading. He hasn’t said anything one way or the other so I just go about doing my job day by day.”
