So what. Shocker--an Iranian broad married into money and then his family paid for everything, including a business.
Plus everyone knows she was kind of dumb until GW cleaned her up for her Masters.
I guess, maybe, it is a slight step above being shot out of a canon at the circus. So, there is that.Plus, does it really take any kind of talent to be shot into space?

So sad, and yet it is a theme that has been repeated over and over. Hopefully, the new management has a different approach and too much damage has not been done to the donor base.A couple years back I had the grand idea to raise money for iPads that both the men's and women's teams could use. Each player would get one and use it for film study and playbooks - lots of big programs were doing it.
I talked with a few people in the Athletic Office including TOC about it. To make a long story short, they were very hesitant about doing it even though there was nothing against NCAA rules about it. After speaking with Paul Bowden - AD of Complience, it became clear that they were not the type of go getters I was hoping for - they would make every excuse not to do it. Here is someone willing to give them 30 iPads and they wanted no part of it... too much work. It was frustrating.
Sounds like they make a living at least. Never heard of them.
Now if you had said the Winklevoss twins went here or those twins on "property Brothers," you'd have something.
I will say I worked with a Mason grad from the mid 80s.....he would be the "high roller" that Mason would have loved.
However.....when he decided to spend some bucks in the early 90s.....TOC and Mason were as someone pointed out, "luke warm." Plus game day atmosphere was so lacking. So the Terps, got his cash and they courted him like you would expect. Thats really all he wanted...was that "special treatment."
Right after the FF, he thought about rejoining Mason. Hoping they would up their game. But then Mason did not accept his son....(although Maryland and UR found him acceptable).....and so his money stayed with Maryland.
To be brutally honest....all he wanted was to feel like a big shot. Mason...just couldnt do it.

Sounds like the first thing our athletic department needs is a crash course in kissing big donors' asses.
The good news is Edwards can't be any worse at it than TOC was. Prick.
Robert Bausch wrote Almighty Me, which was adapted into Bruce Almighty.
Richard Bausch is a literary writer, so it makes sense you wouldn't know who he is. But he's the editor of the Norton Anthology of Short Fiction (the English Major bible), and sold his rough drafts to Northwestern for like $600,000 recently.
I've heard similar stories to this (although they did not include acceptance/non-acceptance into the university) as well as Dr. Gunnie's. I really thought Edwards would have come in and cleaned house like what the new AD at GW when he came in (within months of taking the job, all the fundraising, marketing and some PR folks were replaced). Maybe Edwards wanted to give everyone a chance to show him what they can do under his leadership. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt to get his house in order. Changing a culture in an office is difficult.I will say I worked with a Mason grad from the mid 80s.....he would be the "high roller" that Mason would have loved.
