It's horrifying how accurate that video is. You would think that just by random chance, one of those flaws would not have carried over to George Mason.

If his past at GT is any indication, he definitely knows, and maybe that is part of his problem. Stop worrying about ancillary things and just "coach", but we already know how that is going.

His past at GT is the problem. They are paying him what, 7 mil is what keeps being said, to walk away 4 years ago. GT fattened Blewitt up and he is no longer hungry. Even if we were to get rid of him without having to pay him any more bonuses, etc., what does he care, he's still getting paid.

Sure he, as would I, want to keep working and double dipping his paycheck, but if he were to be fired, what could his reaction be other than 'meh.' He's still making bank for nothing and in a few years, someone will think he got a raw deal and hire the former ACC coach to make a splash with a big name hire (sound familiar).

Notwithstanding some questionable home attendance figures announced by Mason this season, total and average home attendance will decline from last season (with just 1 remaining home game vs. GW).

Last season, Mason had a total home attendance of 68,822 for 14 games (average of 4,916 per game). So far this season, Mason has a total home attendance of 57,349 for 14 games (average of 4,096 per game). This includes an announced crowd of 1,280 for the Catawba game at the RAC.

The decline in attendance occurred despite adding home games vs. ODU & vcu. Would Mason risk another likely decline in home attendance (and the loss of more season ticket holders) by retaining Coach Hewitt for a 5th season?

I have to admit, I keep watching the video about "The Paul Hewitt" over and over again. I have such a mix of emotions about it. I laugh. I am flabbergasted that we hired him. I am sad that he as done the exact same thing to our program.

Hopefully we will use a professional search firm, but in case not, Rule 1 of the search committee should be to search YouTube for videos of potential candidates like this. Kind of like work places checking out Facebook pages of potential candidates.

Im new to this board and site but thought I would chime in and say hello. As for Paul Hewitt, i have not cheered for him once this season. however i have not booed him either. I support the university in their decisions. If they keep him on for next season so be it. We will suffer through another 3 or 4 win A-10 season. if they bring in someone new... maybe we can hope for 6 A-10 wins. The kids go out and try hard every game. its not their fault they are not coached properly.

I forgot to set up the DVR for the game tonight a rare one that is actually on tv. It's poker night and I definitely have my priorities straight. I'll just check the box score after the game and see another double digit loss and just hope Shevon got another double double. I used to never miss watching a game but apathy is even starting to set in with me.
