Leave. The players must know something. One was their second leading scorer and the other two saw significant minutes.

Maybe. Overall he's done a great job at UVA. Those past early exits and failure to live up to expectations, combined w/that Hewitt-like 19 point half against Florida might do some damage, though.

I don't mean to be disagreeable. I thought I admitted they have kicked our asses in the branding department. No argument whatsoever.

I just think all the branding in the world means little unless you back it up by winning consistently.

vcu has made seven consecutive NCAAs. Do you think anyone realizes they've been to the same number of Sweet 16s as Mason?
I think you two agree, mostly. I think 2000's main point is that we need marketing on top of winning. The consistent winning looks like it is on its way. If we don't see better marketing of the program, we will fail to capitalize on it like we failed to do when the OCM was here.

Depending on who they get.. I just view this as more evidence that this is our time.

Georgetown is struggling so hopefully we can grab some more DC attention/support, vcu is due for an off year, we have some dynamic players coming in to add to the immense progress that has already been made, and the A10 tourney is in DC this coming year. The master plan is coming together beautifully.

Now let's go get a big man who can contribute right away.

I hear a certain Cuban is now really embracing his Catholic heritage and wants to be referred to as Fr. James.....also saying he had always wanted to play and coach in the Big E.

Also flouted on ESPN....#1 -----Shaka Smart then.....Danny Hurley and Tommy Amaker.

Shaka would be interesting at Georgetown. If they don't get somone good - Georgetown could recede as a relevant basketball program in the area. Good for us - but a bit sad.

Did GW pull the interim tag of their guy?
Yes.

Does anyone else think that Maryland's move to the Big10 has hurt them regionally with attention? I'm sure they are still covered on local news, but I personally never hear or think about them since they are not playing ACC teams anymore, even though they had a pretty successful season.

Basketball wise a little bit. Feel like I hear about them more now during football season. Granted it's usually because they were on the wrong end of a season long gang rape but hey, attention is attention.

Also maybe I'm wrong, but to me it feels like they have a lack of a rivalry with anyone and that probably doesn't help. I guess in the ACC they B.C. but obviously the local VA schools were rivals and didn't care about Maryland. I think the Big 10 has been trying to make Maryland vs. Rutgers a thing, although that's going about as well as you would think.

Rutgers and UMd are the St. Louis and Dayton of the A-10. The only thing really in common is the check from the conference.

At least the BIG E can celebrate its Private/Catholicness for all the distance it is spread out.

Why at times I miss the old CAA.

They should try to cultivate something g with Penn State, since Penn State at least in football comes down and snatches players right out from under UMD all the time.

And yeah they aren't that great in basketball, but at least they aren't Rutgers bad.

Edit: Maryland thought Duke was their rival in the ACC, which was funny.
