likewise man. I think our players would absolutely adore you but they wouldn't win a single game and we would have about 12 Danny Dixon's in skill on the roster.

When I coached my son’s team a few years back, all of my kids loved me and everyone on the other teams (especially the parents) hated my guts — regardless of score, we played Westhead-style, defense optional and shot more 3s than Golden State.

My only rules were keep your mouth shut and the first guy who gets open better shoot the damn ball before we turn it over. We had a blast even though a couple irate moms tried to knock my teeth in for running up the score.

Yeah, it was mostly sarcasm but Wofford was ranked and actually won a game in the tournament. vcu can't say that. And the SoCon had four teams in the bubble discussion. A10 can't say that. And Spartanburg > Richmond.

Any idea on potential assistant coaches we are looking at? Are we filling 1 or 2 spots? Did Bryson officially get promoted?

Everything is kept so quiet, meanwhile I’m reading on Twitter of other schools filling their assistant coaching spots constantly.

to me absolutely not.... and if they are from my opinion I would rather it be Tyler Jorns than Bryson Johnson (but that is very unlikely).... I mean people on here talk about just how good Fischer and Kelly were (I disagree), but then say how nice it would be if they replace them with a dude with one year grad assistant experience... Wouldn't that be a disservice to our team?

To be fair Bryson Johnson was an assistant at Columbia, and according to ehoops their AD screwed up his working permit application so he had to be let go and then he joined a PhD program here so he could be in staff as a student. I don’t have a problem with him as our third assistant.

Duane Simpkins was hired away from UNCG, so I would hope our other two assistants will have similar levels of experience and success at the D1 level. Hopefully, actually Simpkins doesn’t leave yet and we just have to hire one more assistant coach, but it is what it is.

Brown I think... and Tyler Jorns worked with Utah Jazz for a season as well as Air Force Academy.... give me him any day if we go down the wrong path of not hiring a tenured guy who knows what he is doing.

But Tyler Jorns isn’t a former player? And his job with the Utah Jazz was as a video coordinator?

oh we are doing that?! DP played D3 and I could almost guarantee you Tyler Jorns was better than Paulsen ever was at basketball lol. Some of the best coaches don't have to be former players or even people that are athletic at all. Just look at GMUJIM

Tyler Jorns is a technical staff member, not a coach. He’s going to be a front office guy. Seriously, man, your argument makes zero sense here.

Layout why he’s a better candidate than Bryson Johnson. What is his coaching philosophy? What is his recruitment philosophy? Why do you think he’d be a better recruiter and coach of the game? I will listen to an actual real argument.
