I’m picking up on some common traits you’re laying down among approximately 9 of you:
anxiety, apathy, general discontent, hopelessness, churlishness, excessive snark, surly, loss of interest in certain activities, mood swings, sadness, restlessness, extreme agitation, excessive crying or whining, irritability, social/digital isolation, lack of concentration, excessive hyperbole, cognitive dissonance and finally, repeatedly going over the same fatalistic thoughts related to a single topic.

It is time for an intervention, so when a real difficult issue in life hits you, you’ll have a slight chance of dealing with it. Cheers!

what’s the drug called? Those are some bad side effects.

Rumors are UConn is going to rejoin the Big East, which would put them at 11. Is another shoe going to drop in the A10 (Dayton, St. Louis, vcu?)

Dayton probably makes the most sense, with either of the other two replacing UConn in the AAC as basketball only after the AAC adds like UMass or Army or something as football only.

If I'm the AAC, I'd look at UMass. They are the best fit geographically as it keeps the AAC in New England with a school that can offer a full compliment of sports including I-A football.

No market value, no recruiting value, no budget, no stadium that complies with AAC will mean no interest.

Dusquene and fordham can go and we dont replace them. More money for us and sole possession of the cellar..I kid....

All about $$. If any school gets more money net, they will go. Mason went to A10 bc they net a 3 to 4 hundred grand a yr on the media deal which they did not have in caa. If Umass or whoever gets atleast a million net they will leave.

I don't think the BE will expand beyond 11. They could have added SLU and UD at any time but didn't. Round robin is good for basketball and 20 games is a good number.

Now that WSU is in the AAC as a non-football member, vcu might be in play to join that conference.

Or UMass but I doubt it.

This is all about TV markets. UMass would keep the New England market in the AAC or ODU could deliver Norfolk.

The AAC has gone to a digital heavy deal with ESPN+ as the featured platform. UConn was not happy about it due to SNY relationship. Lack of linear was killing UConn. UMass is in far worse shape for any move up. Not happening. ODU would be a far more logical pick and they would be a long shot.

There is virtually no equity money in the A-10 outside of a weighted share distribution for tournament appearances. 14 schools sharing little gets you very little.

I seriously doubt any conference re-alignment will occur between the Big East and AAC. The Big East is all private or Jesuit schools. That was one of the largest criteria for the split in the first place.

So no TV contract money?
Minuscule. About 300k per member from industry contract data sites. Awful. The NCAA tournament share imbalance is the revenue difference maker. Ask St Bonaventure. No budget but multiple shares rolled back into program. Tough to grow a total conference that way however.

Closer to 400k but enough to make some needed changes. More than the zero we got from caa.
