Guessing this has been posted, but it looks like ODU will play at Mason next season on Nov. 13th. Mason @ ODU the following season.

Somehow that does not have the same zing to it as it used to.

Liberty university just got a home and home with Missouri. And Paulsen can’t even get us any good away games lol. Is everyone still sweeping Paulsens shitty scheduling ability/philosophy under the rug?!? Another bottom 250 OOC schedule coming up for a senior laden team that was a part of Paulsens second two year promise to be good?

Liberty is probably a better opponent than we are right now or over the past few years but there is no excuse why we can't get a home and home with someone like Tech, UVA, Penn State. Fairfax/Nova is flooded with their alumni and would almost be like a home game for them. I have no clue what DP's scheduling philosophy is, especially with a senior laden team like we have this year.

The fact that Liberty, an ASUN team, is a better opponent than us is a huge problem.

I know we have had the occasional home game with UVa and Penn St., but I agree, their local fans would pack the EBA. I am actually surprised we don't have one of those three at EBA every year.

Well, Penn State is now a top 25 team and doesn’t need to play us to build their brand locally with recruits.

Yeah, but the point still stands why can’t we sign ANY home and homes with P5 schools when we could in 2016? It’s not like there are no other schools out there that are where Penn St was 4 years ago.

Don’t understand how this could be hard to understand lol.

Penn State had one top 25 team, let's not go overboard here.

Also, Penn State played Bucknell home and home (or home and neutral) a ton while Paulsen was there. I'm sure our first home and home was a favor from that relationship.

If we can move into a solid road Q1/2 game every season, I'm sure we could start scheduling a few of these.

I'm also sure we're going to take at least 2 guarantee games (although, the payout for these isn't going to be as high next season, so it might not really be worth it unless it's relatively close -- hello Georgetown, hello Villanova).

edit: Our two guarantee games last year were UMD and TCU. UMD was Q1 road game, TCU turned out to be a Q2 road game. We got destroyed by both teams. The TCU game was especially not fun to watch. The problem with our scheduling isn't taking P5 games, it's taking way too many home games against NET 250+ teams.

It’s a double edged sword; if we become a Q1 or Q2 road game P5s won’t schedule us because the risk of losing is real (see Dayton right now, struggling to schedule P5s for true home and homes). I really don’t understand why we can’t do it now against lower end P5 teams who aren’t going to be pushing for the top half of their conference that season who don’t necessarily have anything to lose but could benefit from a game in great recruiting territory.
