Jim where in my statement did I ask for a home game against a P5?

Coach L didn’t get them to come to Fairfax either but he wasn’t afraid to play them, if you go back and look at the schedules we usually at least played 1 top 25 team OOC each year. Some years were definitely helped by the BB&T Classic but they were still on the schedule.
Also when the final schedule is announced I’m not going to bitch either way. I was just making a statement of what I would like to see but not expecting.

I mean, he has scheduled Penn State, Auburn, Louisville, Kansas State, UMD, and TCU in the five years he's been here. Those are all games outside the tournaments (which would add Ole Miss, Ok St, UVA, Cincinnati, Houston, Baylor, and Nebraska onto the list of P5 teams we've played in the last 5 seasons -- I'm including Cincy and Houston because they're both high major teams even if they aren't in a P5 conference).

I really don't think we can complain to much about the P5 games we've gotten, it's the lack of quality mid-majors on our schedule he's got to change -- he schedules too many teams who are in the bottom quarter of men's basketball in terms of quality.

Grand Canyon with a home and home for Arizona St I think. still want to use KenPom from last year as the deciding factor @GMUgemini ?

This may have something to do with mitigating travel for ASU over the next two years and it's not like there's many choices outside of GCU or NAU for close D1 teams for ASU to play. Who knows, could be a favor to their new coach, too.

Yes, we've had one home-and-home with Tech -- 1991 (away), 1992 (home). But we've only ever played them twice in our entire history. We beat them in Fairfax 54-53, so maybe that has something to do with it, lol?

Thats a fair point perhaps I am putting too much weight on last seasons OOC schedule and not DP’s 5 years worth of scheduling.

With 5 more games to schedule who knows what it’ll look like but currently the 20-21 season OOC looks eerily similar to the 19-20 seasons as far as SOS goes.

I’m done discussing until the remaining 5 are announced and even then I won’t be complaining, just give me some damn games to watch.

It just seems like all their alumni in N.Va. could demand such a game. Now that they will have a campus in Arlington, it just seems to make a lot of sense for them.

Agreed. UVA and UMD have played us 9 times each. Virginia Tech is due for another home and home (even a 2 for 1 deal).

I vaguely recall being there and crashing on the floor at someone’s place. But it was almost 30 years ago and I’m quite sure there was alcohol involved so I can’t swear to it.
