All I said was he was supposed to be a Sharp shooter and he isn't lol. That is all still true. I like Greene a lot but he is not half as effective outside as pros like gmujim said he was going to be. Great win glad for Greene and goanar for playing great today

Any chance you would be willing to let the kid get past his intro into legitimate DI play? If you had 17 against Auburn as an 18 year old then your blow might be different. Kids actually grow up.

Mason offered Jamarius Burton, a 6-4 combo guard from Independence HS in North Carolina.

Both UMass and Bona have offered among A-10 teams.

Burton is a really high-level player. He would probably be already committed to an ACC school but he tore up his knee and it has taken time for him to get back up to speed.

Obviously the staff wants to add at least one more 2018 player. It will be interesting to see if they fill both remaining scholarships or hold one.
Hold a scholy? Not with a shorthanded team. We need 13 scholarship players to compete better in the A10, but more importantly, to develop some long-term team consistency—get to a point where we're reloading not rebuilding. There's plenty of time to find quality players in the second half of the recruiting season.

Well we are recruiting about a half-dozen 2019 point guards, so the staff is either planning to hold one or assuming we will have at least one transfer.

We have 4 scholarships for 2019 left right now. If we sign one more 2018 player, we'd still have 3 to give hopefully to a point guard, a big, and a stretch 4 type.

With the amount of transfers every year in college basketball and having just gone through the situation we have this season. I hope we fill both, we will still have 2 guaranteed spots opening for the 2019 season most likely more.

Jamarius Burton is a true combo guard, but I think he has the clear ability to be a lead guard, especially in DP's preferred 2-PG system. He looks to have excellent court vision as a distributor with a very tight handle. When he drives the lane, I can't help but think of Marquise Moore. He's very physical, and has a similar combination of explosion and shiftiness that Moore had in getting to the basket. He has a nice shooting stroke, but he prefers to get in the lane and attack/create. He also has a very good post up game that I doubt many A10 guards could compete with. The versatility of his game is very impressive.

This looks like the exact type, and caliber of player this program needs to continue its upward trend. Now would be a fantastic time for this staff to win a very important recruiting battle. Doing so would allow them to shift some of their 2019 focus from finding a PG who can come in and play on Day 1, to finding a big guy who can come in and develop under Reuter and Calixte, and be ready to take some minutes when Reuter is gone.
