The one thing Mason can offer that no other school can offer is location. Thompson Played for Paul VI in Fairfax. Maybe he wants to stay close to home for his family, or a GF....

Bummer for vcu fans, I'm sure. I don't think we were ever really in contention, but great to be able to get visits from 4-star point guards. I think that's a great indication of Duane Simpkins' effect on the local recruiting scene and where the program is headed in the next few years.

He is really really good and a great pickup for Butler. I hope Simpkins can get these top ranked DMV kids for 2018 onto campus. A couple future stars less than 25 miles from campus

Can't blame Aaron Thompson. He wasn't going to start at PG next year with Otis averaging 30+mpg and having to compete with Javon Green for the remaining 10+mpg as the backup.

Just glad he didn't choose vcu.

We started two PGs all last year...that 2 spot is wide open for any guard to take.
