Conference schedule pairings:

Home and Home: UMass, George Washington, Richmond, Saint Louis, vcu

Home only: Duquesne, Fordham, La Salle, and Rhode Island

Away only: Davidson, Dayton, St. Bonaventure, and Saint Joseph’s

We pretty much swapped Davidson for UMass, and reversed the home and away teams from last season. Also, this could (finally) be our first visit to Olean, unless they move the game to a neutral site again.

This might be an exhibition game, but due to the timing, it's more likely to count, and be the non-bracketed 4th game from the Gulf Coast Showcase.

At least Catawba was DII, this is pretty nubbs but given the roster some early wins might be needed for confidence.

I think the college hoops season starts on November 11th which is a Friday.

I don't recall DP playing Lebanon Valley in a regular season game while he coached at Bucknell. I am sure DP has a relationship with the Lebanon Valley coach.

This should be no more than a scrimmage -- a chance for the team to run their sets against another team and give everyone on the bench a chance to play in a home game. Not bad when you have four freshman on the roster...

Also, the coach at Bucknell prior to DP was Pat Flannery. Flannery won the D-3 National Championship against NYU as the head coach at Lebanon Valley in 1994 and the went on to coach at Bucknell. (Note: NYU basketball fans still complain about that championship game --- Lebanon Valley scored on an offensive rebound to send the game to OT. The only problem was that the shot was clearly after time expired but there was no replay review at that time.)

A scrimmage would of been fine. But an official game vs these D II and III programs is a head scratcher. Why not play a Howard or umbc instead? I cant see how this is making us better. Would much rather get beat up now, so our guys know what a good team at this level looks and feels like.

If this was a year when we had a chance to challenge for the A10 crown, I'd not be happy. We're not there yet and any win can be a confidence booster.
