2015 Recruiting

I'm amazed that no one has pointed out we have a combined ZERO pg recruits offered in the 2015-2017 classes.

Obviously those classes are still in the future but we have plenty of offers/interest out there for players at other positions. If this list is accurate, it is mind boggling our Hewitt continues to refuse to focus on recruiting pg's, when apparently it is the most important position in his offense. It's as if he has split personalities - one recruits and one coaches, but they don't talk to each other.

Not sure why you taking a site like that as pure gospel in terms of the school's recruiting process

I thought we had offered him earlier. Either way, it's gonna be tough sledding for the 2015 class until Hewitt's status gets a little less uncertain.

I agree about the schools, Jim, but the one thing that does comfort me is that Bill Coen is on him. Despite coaching a team that is an afterthought in his own market, Coen has always had a knack for finding kids who fly under the radar.

If we do land him, let's hope he ends up like other Coen gems like Matt Janning, Jose Juan Barea, Chaisson Allen, Quincy Ford and Scott Eatherton.

Hewitt mentioned his name, but I forget what he said. All I know is the kid is huge. Almost looked like a linebacker.

Yes and no.

I'm honestly shocked that Hewitt was able to get a verbal from a kid of Gilbert's quality with his job status seemingly up in the air. Obviously Hewitt somehow convinced him that he wasn't getting fired any time soon.

Now the real test is whether Edwards and Cabrera keep Hewitt around to coach these guys. Because even if Gilbert signs an LOI, we'll let him out of it in the event of a coaching change. Schools almost always do.
