I just hope a depressed vcu fan isn't piloting the plane. #toosoon?

Not a chance!

They lose their coach AND they have an unusable, slow MB?
Sucks to be them.
Appears their biggest concern at the moment is is HAVOC is dead or not.

Who owns havoc? Shaka or vcu?

Shaka better think twice about trying to bring Havoc to Texas. Quality competition tends to handle pressing teams a bit better than the opponents vcu was accustomed to. Ask WVU.

And I should add that those rights attach only to the classes of goods the mark is used on in commerce. Nothing would prevent him from using the word havoc to describe his gameplan or anything like that (if vcu indeed owns).

It's not registered by either. It's just a common law mark, which means whoever used it first in commerce has the rights. I'm guessing vcu by selling t-shirts and other merch.

I can't find the link, but I'm pretty sure you're right. It's vcu's to use to some extent, but who the hell buys that stuff now?

Shaka developed/brought it to vcu. vcu "coined" it for use. They have a billboard on I-95 in Richmond with a vcu bball player on it saying Havoc lives here.

The next coach there will probably use the term "Havoc" since that name has been marketed by vcu over the years.

vcu paid for the billboard on I-95 in Richmond that says Havoc lives here. Shaka brought it to vcu. vcu "coined" it for use.

I wonder if FGCU still uses Dunk City?
