Jerod Haase received a six-year contract extension from UAB per Jon Rothstein.

Hmmm...I've had Hurley pegged for that job for a while now. Guess we can add that to the list of things I've called wrong over the past three weeks or so.

Bobby Hurley just re-upped with Buffalo. He's not going anywhere this year.

I thought the link said that Hurley had agreed to an extension, but wasn't signing anything yet and still wanted to keep his options open.

Interesting question. The last go around we decided to be concervative and look where it got us.

I will probably be wrong like gmujim....but I'm going out on a limb to say that Mason will not get in the salary wars...(plus I think Edwards is going for Prohm and miss out) and just pick some off the NATIONAL radar candidate like a Cherry. Not a slam on him..just a reasonable HC from a small school no one is paying attention to...

Yeah, lots of conflicting reports on Hurley too, so I may not have been completely right at first. Most likely scenario has Hurley reaching an agreement in principle with Buffalo, but he wants to interview with DePaul before he signs the contract.

Now that Charlotte has hired Price, our biggest competition for Moton is gone. Young hasn't even been mentioned in connection with any other jobs.

No way we're hitting a single with this hire. No freaking way.

For those keeping track at home.....Young may be off the table from talking to the southern branches of my family in Charlotte.

Besides the wife....it seems he's playing the Bob McKillop role......likes where he's at and what he does and is not totally driven by the idea of "moving up." Apparently they have a $40M arena coming (for a school of 1600), and he likes his set up there still after 26 years...

Also explains why his name isnt too much thrown around...

If you are into that kind of thing, more power to you. But, I am not sure if it helps us to hire him or not.
