Yeah, the more I think about it, hiring Barnes again would be like getting dumped by your super-hot girlfriend at 18 after never getting past second base, then watching her go marry some rich dude with a 12-inch weiner, only to have her come crawling back 20 years later looking to reconcile.

Yeah, the more I think about it, hiring Barnes again would be like getting dumped by your super-hot girlfriend at 18 after never getting past second base, then watching her go marry some rich dude with a 12-inch weiner, only to have her come crawling back 20 years later looking to reconcile.

Yeah, he has one of the most school-friendly buyout clauses of all the big time coaches/schools.

• Kennesaw State may hire from within for their new HC
• Georgetown asst Tavaras Hardy has emerged as a candidate at Bradley
• Andy Toole and Will Brown rising to the top at Fordham
• Arizona asst Joe Pasternack also a candidate at Nevada
• Eric Musselman and Mike Brown (NBA coach) turned down invites at San Diego
• Besides Bobby Hurley's name at DePaul, Lindsey Hunter (NBA player/current asst) has emerged as a candidate
• Apparently, Steve Lavin is quietly speaking to TV networks about gigs for next season, so his future at St. John's doesn't bode well.
• With Rick Barnes future up in the air, rumors that DePaul may be interested if he's canned.

I have given some more thought on Rick Barnes. IF he called us to say he never should have left us and that he made a mistake, that he has always loved us and we are still his dream job, then I would give him an interview. But the stuff he would have to do in that interview before I could ever trust him again is probably illegal in some states. Oh, and he would have to pledge his everlasting love for us. And he would have to earn our trust by taking low base salary with huge incentives with a huge penalty if he leaves.

Mark Price has taken the Charlotte job. That leaves Moton still available. Lots of Charlotte people (much like some of us here) were hoping Moton would get the UNCC job. Can't wait to see the reaction to Price.

Wow, that is huge for us. I thought we'd d!ck around too long trying to get Prohm, then lose out on Moton to Charlotte and wind up getting neither.

Assuming we don't get Prohm, who would be the A+++++++++ hire for a team in our situation, I would be thrilled with either Mike Young or Moton.

Two completely different guys and backgrounds. But I think both would do very well in Fairfax.

FWIW, what I caught from the show, Host and Former Vermont Coach Tom Brennen thought Prohm would be a great fit at Mason. His co-host didn't think Prohm was ready for a big league like the A10. But he's an idiot b/c he didn't even know we had a vacancy and admitted he didn't keep up with vacancy in these leagues. So F that guy. Brennen praised the job and the program, but overall, both hosts had to dig deep to talk about GMU. We truly are irrelevant.

So now Tom Brennan is the arbiter of who's relevant and who's not? Good to know.

On the flip side, I'll take the fact that some very good coaches are seemingly interested in our job as evidence that we're far from irrelevant.

Key is making a good hire this time. If Edwards does that, people will write off the last 4 years as a product of Hewitt's (and TOC's) ineptitude.
