Did he take a single shot in that video?

Lots of layups and dunks and he can indeed get up, but if the old Hewitt clogged toilet offense can't create space for him, will he be able to score?

Like most really athletic kids, Mayimba didn't need to shoot many jumpers in HS because he could get into the lane and score at the rim.

But I was pleasantly surprised by the few 3s he hit in his junior video. He's not known as a shooter, but his stroke looked technically sound -- not like the staff is gonna have to completely overhaul his jumper like Moore's.

Tom has a video of Mayimba raining threes in practice.....

I posted a video back in the fall that showed Mayimba working out......he took several 3's in the video. Obviously shooting jumpers in an open gym is not comparable to game play, but he has nice form and great lift on his jumper. I'm looking forward to him getting some PT next year.

He might be starting if Gray doesn't take it. We know Hewitt has no problem starting freshman

Hitting 3s in practice obviously doesn't mean they will fall in a game, but show me a kid who can't make them in practice and I'll show you a kid who will NEVER hit them in a game.

If Jenkins doesn't move to the 3, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Mayimba or Lockett start the season-opener there.

We're not winning anything next year anyhow ... may as well let the young pups learn on the job.

But what about those golfers that are all stars on the range, but it never translates to the course?!?!

Love the guys who spend $900 on a driver, hit the ball 300 yards but can't hit their 8 iron a straight 130 yards to save their life.

Porter's ceiling is really high, with the right combo of drive and coachability he might be a huge steal for this program. Mayimba's jumper looks solid, we all know that dude can fly.

The ceilings have to be high in your house if you are almost 7 feet tall. I would assume its pretty awkward to be in a room with standard 8 foot ceilings.
