Thanks, Joe. I did stumble upon that site, but you need to be a member to look at any of the stories or box scores. You'd think a newspaper in the Hagerstown area would cover the team.

I've got an inside source with Mayimba's St. James coach. A few things that were said about him:

Mayimba will make a huge leap from his freshman to sophomore year and will be first team A10 his junior year.

His best basketball is ahead of him.

The type of strength you hope for in a basketball player.

He will be 6'8.

He loves GMU, only wears Mason gear at St. James.

He wants to play soccer at Mason.

There's still an English barrier.

He struggled at the 4 position this last year. He's a true 3. Mason has a legit 6'8 wing player that can run the floor.

Wouldn't be hard to pick him out of the soccer team picture!! I don't think I've ever seen a 6' 8 soccer player! Actually, I'm not sure it would be possible to do both sports giving that the seasons overlap.

Pretty sure if you're playing an NCAA sport you can't play club sports, but that's just me assuming the NCAA has an idiotic rule about that.

So, you can play professionally in another sport, but you can't play a club sport in another sport? I seem to recall Jai Lewis trying to convince Larranaga to allow him to play club football at Mason.

English striker Peter Crouch is at least 6'7 and surprisingly good with the ball at his feet.

I imagine he'd have to sit out a year just to play a year, but he was a 4-star recruit coming out of HS with a ton of BCS offers. Just thought I'd throw it out there for fun since we don't have a lot of guards.

Actually really excited about our incoming freshman next year. Only heard good things. Mayimba being an athlete, Porter 5A state player of the year, Lockett leading his team. Looks like a lot of heart and hustle (but the last time I said that I was talking about AO... whoops). But looks like real A10 talent to me.

Lots of athleticism coming in with these freshmen. Mayimba might be the best pure athlete to ever sign with Mason.

But we have to hope they're a better fit for what Hewitt is trying to do here, whatever the heck that is.

Hopefully these young guys, Jenkins and Moore will form the core of our program going forward. I'm really glad they're all Patriots.
