7-foot JUCO Shevon Thompson is supposed to be visiting ODU at some point. Their fans seem to think they're the favorite to land him, but who knows?

They also got a visit from Arledge. So much for those ACC schools rushing to sign him, I guess.

We need a center too. Copes is a senior next season and there's Porter, but no one thinks he will be ready. After Copes we have no one.

That's true ... which is why it's mystifying that Hewitt went out and signed 3 6-6 wings in the same class.

We'll be a team with no backup point, no backup center -- please God, let Porter redshirt and do work in the weight room -- and a glut of 3s and 4s.

Do you know if Mason actually offered him or were they just interested? I couldn't find anywhere that they actually had an offer. Just saw that they were one of many with "interest". A friend of mine were actually discussing him committing last night via text. Not that it really matters, but I'm interested to see if anyone knows

I was very surprised that Mayimba committed after Lockett and them doubly surprised we offered Jackson on top of that. It's very odd.

We have 3 face up 4s -- Marko, Jenkins, Royal

We have 4 small forward types -- Gray, Lockett, Mayimba, Jackson

That's 7 players out of 13 who all essentially play the same position.

No real low post presence (Copes is solid, but not the dominant big Hewitt needs).

No point guard to speak of (Love Moore's potential, but without a perimeter game he's dead in the water).

Outside if Holloway (and Gray if Hewitt so chooses to finally use him) we don't even have a reliable three point threat. How the hell do you run a 4 out 1 in offense with 1 shooter?

I really hope he considers switching offensive schemes next year. With Lockett, Jenkins, Copes, Royal, even Marko (who can back down a defender and get his euro hook off) we should be playing out of the post as much as possible.
