Where was he on our list? I never thought he was a possibility.

He was a long, long, long shot, but it became apparent he was destined for a BCS school when his final list was announced.

We were after him a few months ago, but I think once the big boys came calling we were out of the race. Wichita State was the only "smaller" program to make his final list.

I was wondering, in recruiting these big recruits, Tim Q, Devin Wilson, Blanton, Etc...do we look at who's recruiting them and what that schools' needs are? It seems we don't b/c if LSU was offering Tim starter mins b/c they badly needed a PG so why would our coaches think he'd come to a then CAA school instead of LSU? Same with Devin and VT. So my question, would they have commited had we been in the A10? And, I think should aim for the stars, but it seems we are reaching with no back up plan. Really needed a PG two years ago.

I think Hewitt himself is probably a little surprised that he hasn't been able to reel in the big fish. And that was supposed to be his strong suit.

We still have the 2nd or 3rd ranked class in the a10. Problem is we have the 13th ranked coach.

We do have a strong class compared to the rest of the A10, but it still isn't what this team really needs moving forward. He's failed to land an above average PG or anyone to step in and replace Sherrod/Bryon. His recruiting hasn't been great and it greatly effects his roster management.

That would depend on where he ends up.

Been the problem since day one.

It's naive to suggest that a kid picks a school based solely on how good their program is. Many of these recruits have chips on their shoulder the size of a brick, so a lot of them want to play right away (even if that means going to a losing team).

More often than not it means choosing a lower BCS school over a higher BCS school, but there is the rare occasion that a kid like Jon Severe will choose a school like Fordham over BCS programs just for the opportunity to start right away.

Severe had a ton of offers but ended up choosing Forham over programs like Alabama, BC, Cincinnati, Creighton, Kansas State, Pitt and West Virginia. Crosby will in all likelihood end up with a BCS program, but we need to hope he sees the same opportunity with our team that Severe saw with Fordham.

I don't think so. I haven't seen much come up on him anywhere. I'm thinking he may have these offers, but might be deciding to go prep or something?

I think we told him to wait back in the summer when it seemed like he wanted to commit. I'd be surprised to see him end up with any of the schools that are listed on that website.

Pretty good bet we land the JC guy. Hey, he even saw us beat LaSalle in person.
