Lol. TOC did some great things, he got us Larranaga (although supposedly he didn't want him) and somehow kept him around for 14 years. He also got Mason into the A10 the second time after Merten said no the first time.

Unfortunately he will be most remembered for helping piss the final four away, and hiring the coach who liked 6'7 recruits.

I think you're distorting O'Connor's record a bit. Granted his post-Final 4 hiring of Hewitt was a huge mistake,but he obviously was respected enough as an AD to be voted Chairman of the NCAA Selection Committee the year we made the Final 4. Indeed, I bet more than a few Hofstra fans would argue that TOC being Chairman of that committee WAS the reason we made it that year!

Further, he did keep Larranaga here after the Final 4 for a few years, despite a serious offer from Coach L's alma mater, which must have been difficult for him to turn down. Not only did Shaka's success at duplicating our Final 4 run lead to Larranaga's dissatisfaction, but I think the conventional wisdom that Power 5 schools would not be seriously looking for someone as old as Coach L led Mason to be slow in reacting to the need to upgrade his situation in order to keep him.
