What do you do after helping your team to a 63-62 win? If you are @Slimm_4 you sign autographs for kids. @GMUHoops
Posted this on twitter the other day but it bears repeating here. Otis has 849 career points, which puts him 151 away from 1,000. If we play another game or two this year, he probably gets to 1,000 in the OOC portion of next year's schedule. He's played 65 games through his first two seasons, so if we assume he's got another 65 games left in his career, here's what he would need to average in order to hit certain milestones:
1,500 points: 10 points per game
1,750 points: 13.9 ppg
2,000 points: 17.7 ppg
He averaged 14.2 points per game this season, and that was with some extended shooting slumps. Kind of wild to think he's a shoo-in for a 1,500 point career even if he misses time. 2,000 points is a long shot, but it's fun to think about!
Otis enters the CBI shooting 91.5% (118-129) from the FT line this season. He's on pace to break the school's 40-year old record for FT% in a season (minimum 50 attempts): Steve Bacon - 87.1%.
And knowing how competitive Otis is, I bet he can remember exactly when and against which team he missed each those 11 FTs.
I'm expecting Otis to have more like 85 games left in his career
At George Mason, you mean.
Figure there will be some game overseas, then a couple hundred games coaching, after playing here.
His high school coach says he could play in the NBA....
That will be a tall order for a 5-11 guard from a non p5 (pun intended). Not impossible, just tough.
