With 2 clutch FT's to put the Patriots up 72-68 with 1:44 remaining in the 76-74 victory over UMass, Jaire is shooting 85.7% (24-28) from the FT line this season. Last season, he shot 53.6% (30-56) from the line.
I hope coach is really pushing him to be aggressive in attacking the rim. He needs to triple his trips to the line.

Jaire has become a MAN this week. He is starting to put it altogether!!!

Dangerous Ice Man.... dangerous!

He has started to take-and make- shots that make him look like a star. The no hesitation pull up 3, the corner 3 with a man all over him, and the quick turnaround off at the glass at the end of the game- were all big time plays.

We have some real talent on this team and I only hope we get the confidence to make a run in Pittsburg. The thing that has me most worried is our lack of size

I cant decide if I agree with this or not. I would like him at the line more because of the clip he shoots at but it seems that every time he does try to go to the rim he turns it over before he gets there or just shoots up some wild shot that doesn't have a prayer. With work I think he will get better, but with at least 2-3 guys better and seemingly more comfortable than him at doing it, id prefer he continue to be the sniper from long range.

Similar thoughts, but the occasional drive might keep teams honest. and he might end up with better 3 point opportunities.

I love what I see out of Newman. Nice stroke but teams have to stay off him a little bit because he can drive to the hoop.
