I've never liked when college teams use their nickname on the front of jerseys. The value in the brand is the school's name, IMO. There aren't that many that do it. Oklahoma using "SOONERS" on the front of their football jerseys might be the highest profile example I can think of off the top of my head
I'm right there with you. Please don't ever have Patriots on the front of the jerseys

In completely useless news, for the first time in at least 6 seasons we only wore our regular home white uniforms or our regular green uniforms. No alts. No throwbacks. Nothing. Hopefully those awful gray unis have been permanently retired.

Do you track this with a spreadsheet or something? ;)

What about teams that show only "State” on the front? I can think of Michigan State who does this. There may be a couple more. How about Mason’s jerseys showing "University" on the front? Or, would that get us in trouble with Miami—The U?

NC State just had "state" in the mid 80s.

Western Kentucky leaves Russell Athletic for Nike. I think the only Russell schools around are HBU's and Georgia Tech. Maybe a low major here or there, but basically out of it when it comes to big time college athletics.

Edit: Southern Miss in Conference USA wears Russell. The contract with Georgia Tech expires in 2018. My guess is that Tech will probably leave for Nike/UA/adidas.

George Mason needs to be on the front of all the jerseys. Put the kids names back on the back of the jerseys. Just look better and these kids deserve to be recognized on the court as they have worked hard to compete nationally in NCAA basketball.

Never been a fan of trying to brand us as Mason. You don't see people going around calling JMU "Madison" or GW "Washington" or Christopher Newport "Newport" or Robert Morris "Morris". Half of my friends from high school went to JMU as well as I work with 6 guys who went to JMU and I've never heard them refer to JMU as Madison.

Nationally.....Need to brand us as George Mason and/or as GMU. Need to get away from this Mason nonsense. "Mason" will fail to create brand awareness outside of Virginia.

JMU isn't nationally known, either, and they don't have the problem of being confused with two other area "George" schools.

Also, James Madison and George Washington as a founding fathers are much more commonly known. Maybe we need to lobby for a national George Mason day...and start a George Mason scholarship conference?
