Assuming the team wants names on the back of jerseys........ I say make 'em earn it. Win the regular season, or win the tourney or get an at-large. THEN put the names on them the following year.

Put the names on the back of the jerseys already. The only major programs that have NNOB are Wisconsin and Indiana, who hasn't been relevant for three decades. OK, maybe that's a stretch, but you get the point. There might be another school here or there, but the overwhelming majority have names on the back.

If we get new unis next year I'd be happy. The shorts are cool as anything.

Since the entire no name on the back started during Blewitts tenure we should put the names back to erase any memory of him.

Actually, it started with the 2011 NCAA team, in Larranaga's final season.

Yep no names on Jerseys.

What's sad is we did nothing capitalize on our 2011 NcAA appearance. Everyone knew the name George Mason from 06 thru 2011. And we sat on our a**, content with simply hearing our name, rather than hearing the register collect possibly millions of real money. Smh. With such a good Econ dept, NOBODY stepped up to slap Merten in the face?

I would be okay with 3 different uniform Fronts. That way there's no excuses for anyone to bitch.
Traditional Home White - George Mason
Away Green - Mason
Alternate Gold or Neon - Patriots

I want to go back to George Mason on the front of the jersey or "Patriots". When I tell people in my professional work environment, I don't say I went to "Mason", I went to George Mason University.
Better chance of seeing the university change its name to Mason than having us go back GMU. Trying to brand ourselves distinctively from JMU.

I'm game for this idea -- neon all the way! just need to avoid the curse of the yellow alternates.

I prefer Mason over GMU or George Mason. I always have. I've not run into any issues with people knowing what I'm talking about. Maybe out West, but I don't really go there too often.

I've never liked when college teams use their nickname on the front of jerseys. The value in the brand is the school's name, IMO. There aren't that many that do it. Oklahoma using "SOONERS" on the front of their football jerseys might be the highest profile example I can think of off the top of my head

It would be cool if the Athletic Dept designed say 3 different options for a home, away and alternate and then the fans get to vote the 3 uniforms that will be used.

Isn't Sooners different though? I mean, Mason isn't exactly a nickname, it's an abbreviation, (a diminutive) of the full name. It's like Nova for Villanova.

Mason feels distinct to me in that we have the problem of George Mason, George Washington, Georgetown, and of course James Madison, and they're all in the region of the country.
