I hope the team is able to rebound from the disappointment of today's loss and continue to play focused and hard.

what a joke...we had a better KNIT (unless that was somehow changed since this morning...we had a better avg of the 7 rankings when i checked) and beat dayton h2h at their place. am i missing something here?

edit: ok maybe venue availability as mentioned above?

"See the full schedule of first round matchups for the 2025 National Invitation Tournament, organized by region below. All times are listed in Eastern time and the asterisk* beside each team's name indicates that school is the host for that matchup. In all cases except one, the first round matchup will be hosted by the higher seeded team. The lone exception is No. 1 Dayton, which will play at Florida Atlantic in the first round because the Flyers' home court at UD Arena will be used for the NCAA First Four play-in games for the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament."

1) Win and earn a 2nd home game
20 I believe Dayton's SoS earns a higher bid than GMU. Also, Dayton was listed in the last 4 out in the latest bracketology, whereas Mason's only path to the NCAA Tourney was winning the A-10

I think their mental state is particularly the key. Will they play like they still have something to prove? Or coast, given that the "gang" is about to break up--some having used up their eligibility while others thinking about the transfer portal.

It behooves the fan base to show up for a midweek game and provide support for an inspired performance.

In no world will the A10 ever be a multiple bid league anymore. It's power 5, also Dayton was no where close to being in.

Weren’t you like a million percent wrong about the NIT?
Everyone said no, it’s actually somehow even more god awful of a field. Samford? Hahahaha. Mason better be a +15 on that game.

disagree
IMO
if GMU wins today both GMU and vcu make it in
Disagree all you want; everyone had vcu out. They weren’t going to leave unc out of field. Too much money left on the table. It’s all about fan bases and money. The whole game has changed: they do not want underdogs winning anymore.

It’s why all the power schools are running to this stupid Vegas tournament, leaving the nit with a horrible field.

I still think it’s crap a 26 win 2nd place A10 team can’t even get a 1 seed in the NIT anymore. I don’t care who Mason played they had a hell of a season. The A10 was the 6th or 7th best conference depending what metrics you use so yeah I think it’s all crap.

It’s a complete joke giving Dayton the 1. They can’t even host, what was the point, just further telling Mason we hate you?

Kempom : Mason #78 favored by 8 at home vs Samford #116
8? That’s weak, still no respect. Should be about 15. If they bring offense they did this weekend; they win by 20+. Given Jalen punched a chair and KD walked off the court before the game was over. Who is even playing? Maddox, O’Connor Gio Anderson Woody and Billups? Still win easily but maybe 8 is more realistic.

Dunno why unc and their traveling fans are used as an arguement for getting in, they should not have. Is that potential one and done trip by unc worth more than a potential run created by the "GMU"'s of the world? Don't think so.

"Playing against George Mason will be interesting. Former ETSU player Jaylen Haynes is their star player. Remember a couple years ago the student section was chirping at him and he was talking back. Watched George Mason play vcu earlier. Plays like a total thug and is always trying to chirp and push around other players. Should be interesting, especially when Larry is in the game."

This is "Larry":

Isn’t it also tv ratings? Won’t more people tune in to watch a unc?

So should our goal be to achieve Wichita’s flexibility of being non football in a football league?

I'll be there Wednesday to cheer on the guys but the NIT has basically become the CBI.....a third rate post season tournament due the emergence of this new Crown Tournament. The part I most looked forward to with previous NIT appearances was the opportunity to play teams from the Power 4, that seems like a thing of the past. With this field, if the guys are up for it, we can win this thing.

P4's only want our players. That's why, imo, there should be a development fee for every transfer.
